Abstract: Disclosed is a technique for generating a three dimensional terrain map of a geographic area. Mobile units are equipped with satellite receivers (e.g., GPS receivers) for generating location data. A map generator uses the location data to generate a three dimensional terrain map. In one embodiment, the mobile units have primary uses other than mapping, and are traversing the geographic area to be mapped in connection with their primary function. The map generation process may be performed iteratively over time, as additional location data becomes available. During a time period when location data is unavailable for a portion of the three dimensional terrain map, the map generator may estimate the missing portion of the map using the available data. The estimated portion may later be updated with actual data as that data becomes available. The map may also contain enhancements based on enhancement data received by the map generator.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for identifying and displaying odd loops and hints for resolution of the odd loops in an IC design layout for printing on multiple masks. The method of some embodiments identifies the hints by evaluating the effectiveness and feasibility of different potential resolutions, ensuring that hints do not create additional odd loops. The method of some embodiments also displays indications of the odd loops and the hints which a user can use to troubleshoot an odd loop violation. The method of some embodiments also prioritizes or scores the resolution hints to facilitate efficient troubleshooting of odd loop violations.
Abstract: A system and method of treating target tissue that includes generating a treatment beam of light using a light source, directing the treatment beam onto target tissue using an optical element, generating an image of the target tissue from light emanating from the target tissue using a plurality of optical elements, and translating the light source, the optical element and/or the plurality of optical elements relative to the target tissue (using a translation device) to simultaneously move the treatment beam along the target tissue and the field of view of the target tissue as defined by the plurality of optical elements. Control electronics control the translation device to cause the treatment beam to move along the target tissue in a predetermined pattern.
Abstract: An evaporation tool for forming a dopant structure on a front surface of a continuous workpiece, wherein the front surface includes a precursor layer to form Group IBIIIAVIA absorbers for solar cells and the dopant structure is used to introduce dopants into the precursor layer. The tool includes at least a first vapor source station to deposit a Group VIA material, such as Se, and a second vapor station to deposit a dopant material, such as Na, onto the continuous workpiece. A moving assembly of the tool holds and moves the continuous workpiece within the tool by feeding the continuous workpiece from a first end and taking up from a second end of the tool. A support assembly of the tool contacts a back surface of the continuous workpiece to remove the heat from and apply tension to the continuous workpiece during the process.
Abstract: A system may include first and second qubits that cross one another and a first coupler having a perimeter that encompasses at least a part of the portions of the first and second qubits, the first coupler being operable to ferromagnetically or anti-ferromagnetically couple the first and the second qubits together. A multi-layered computer chip may include a first plurality N of qubits laid out in a first metal layer, a second plurality M of qubits laid out at least partially in a second metal layer that cross each of the qubits of the first plurality of qubits, and a first plurality N times M of coupling devices that at least partially encompasses an area where a respective pair of the qubits from the first and the second plurality of qubits cross each other.
Abstract: A horizontal flow water treatment method and wetland biofilter apparatus provides a chamber with impermeable outer walls spaced away from permeable interior walls of a media filtration bed such that a catch basin is formed between the outer walls and the interior walls. The catch basin creates an open area around the perimeter of the interior walls for influent water to fill within the open area on all sides before penetrating the filtration media, providing a large surface area for influent water to interact with the media filtration bed. The influent water enters the catch basin in a horizontal flow path to provide for pre-settling of particulates before making contact with the filtration media. The biofilter design increases the available surface area of the media filtration bed by up to four times for a given volume of water, and thereby minimizes the loading or infiltration rate on the media filtration bed.
Abstract: A system for interactive evaluation of policies includes a first graphical user interface element and a second graphical user interface element. The first graphical user interface element enumerates at least one resource. The second graphical user interface element receives an identification of a characteristic of at least one client and displays a result of an application of at least one policy associated with the at least one resource to the at least one client, the at least on policy applied responsive to the received identification of the characteristic.
Abstract: A heat management system may include a generally planar printed circuit board extending in a first plane, heat-generating electrical components mounted on a first side of the PCB, and an air baffle coupled to the PCB and configured to direct air flow across some of the components. The air baffle may include a generally planar air baffle body extending in a second plane parallel to and offset from the first plane of the PCB such that at least one of the components is located in an area between the air baffle body and the PCB, an opening in the generally planar body, and a generally planar wing coupled to the air baffle body at a first side of the opening and extending toward the PCB at an askew angle relative to the first plane of the air baffle body, the wing being configured to facilitate air flow through the opening.
Abstract: A data logging module and a method of monitoring a medical warming cabinet is disclosed. A temperature of the heating chamber and a state of a door of the heating chamber are sampled at predetermined intervals and recorded as data packets on a memory device. A display may provide a message when the memory device is reaching capacity. Moreover, a selected of the data packets may be analyzed (such as the data packets excluding the data packets when the door is open) for the generation of a report. The data packets from the memory device may be transferred from the memory device to an external memory device as necessary.

Abstract: A method, system and type of database for transmitting data is disclosed in which the data is organized into a structured linear database. The structured linear database includes a routing header portion, a file allocation table, a data portion and a tailbit portion. The structured linear database may be transmitted over any type of network, such as a TM-UWB system or a fiber-optic system. Once the data to be transmitted is identified, a corresponding field is identified in the field allocation table giving the location of the data within the transmission. This field is then referenced by the user to access the specific type of data desired at the given location of the transmission. this process may be repeated enabling data to be stored on transmission lines and accessed at any point at any time providing an always on network.
