Abstract: Disclosed is an improved method, system, and computer program product for preparing multiple levels of semiconductor substrates for three-dimensional IC integration. Some embodiments utilize the process and design models to check and fabricate the insulating dielectric layer (IDL) separating the first and the second film stacks on separate substrates and then prepare the surface of the IDL to receive an additional layer of semiconductor substrate for further fabrication of the chips. Yet some other embodiments further employ the design and process models to ensure the IDL and the semiconductor substrate are sufficiently flat, or are otherwise satisfactory, so the three-dimensional integrated circuits meet the reliability, manufacturability, yield, or performance requirements. Yet some other embodiments further employ design and process models to place the vias connecting the multiple film stacks.
Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, and articles of manufacture for using pattern matching with an integrated circuit layout including recognizing shapes within the IC layout, identifying features for the shapes, and extracting situations for the respective features. The method may further include simulating the situations to determine a set of situations for modification based on an OPC requirement, modifying the set of situations to improve satisfaction of the OPC requirement, and reintegrating the modified set of situations into the IC layout. The method may also include simulating a subset of the extracted situations to determine aerial images of the subset, and tiling the subset of situations to form a larger aerial image. The method may also include removing overlap from a window based on the situations extracted for the window, calculating a density for each of the situations, and calculating a density for the window based on the density.

Abstract: Methods of fabricating a polymeric implantable device, such as a stent, with improved fracture toughness through annealing a polymer construct below the glass transition temperature of the polymer of the construct prior to a deformation step are disclosed herein. The deformation of the construct induces crystallization in the polymer construct through strain-induced crystallization. The annealing of the polymer construct accelerates the crystallization induced during the deformation and results in an increase in crystallite density with smaller crystallites as compared to deformation of a tube that has not been annealed. A stent scaffolding is then made from the deformed tube.
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing shared state within a distributed system with varying consistency and consensus semantics are described. In one configuration, a computing device receives a first plurality of objects representing the state of a first item and a second plurality of objects representing the state of a second item. The computing device generates a composed view of the state of each of the first item and the second item. The resulting composed views are transmitted using a reliable multicast protocol.

Abstract: Improved cycling of high voltage lithium ion batteries is accomplished through the use of a formation step that seems to form a more stable structure for subsequent cycling and through the improved management of the charge-discharge cycling. In particular, the formation charge for the battery can be performed at a lower voltage prior to full activation of the battery through a charge to the specified operational voltage of the battery. With respect to management of the charging and discharging of the battery, it has been discovered that for the lithium rich high voltage compositions of interest that a deeper discharge can preserve the cycling capacity at a greater number of cycles. Battery management can be designed to exploit the improved cycling capacity obtained with deeper discharges of the battery.

Abstract: Broadcasting data streams to telephony devices via talk paths, wherein audio data streams are muted based on connection states of each of the plurality of talk paths. Each telephony device sends an input audio data stream to a media server via a respective talk path. The media server combines input audio data streams received from the telephony devices to generate output audio data streams for sending to the telephony devices via the respective talk paths. For each telephony device, a determination is made as to whether to mute the respective output audio data stream. The determination is based on connection states of each of the talk paths.
Abstract: Described in detail herein are systems and methods for managing connections in a data storage system. For example, the systems and methods may be used to manage connections between two or more computing devices for purposes of performing storage operations on the data of one of the computing devices. The data storage system includes at least two computing devices. A first computing device includes an unauthorized connection data structure and a connection manager component. The connection manager component receives a connection request from a second computing device. If the second computing device is not identified on the unauthorized connection data structure, the connection manager component can request that an authentication manager authenticate the second computing device and/or determine whether the second computing device is properly authorized. If so, the connection manager component can allow the second computing device to connect to the first computing device.

Abstract: A roof-based system for suspending photovoltaic modules, such as solar panels, relative to a roof surface without penetration of the roof surface. Cables under tension span the roof surface, with opposed ends of the cables securely mounted to generally C-shaped cable arm assemblies that wrap around the roof edge for connection via pivot joint assemblies to the underside of an overhanging eave, the immediate side wall of the structure below the roof, or directly to roof edge fascia. The system is completely contained to the roof area with no penetration of any parts through the roof surface. Vertical and horizontal rails set upon the roof surface, but not attached to the roof surface, support the weight of the photovoltaic modules attached thereto, while the cables, under tension, hold down the rails in position relative to the roof surface.
