  • Patent number: 12198051
Abstract: Collaborative filtering systems based on variational autoencoders (VAEs) are provided. VAEs may be trained on row-wise data without necessarily training a paired VAE on column-wise data (or vice-versa), and may optionally be trained via minibatches. The row-wise VAE models the output of the corresponding column-based VAE as a set of parameters and uses these parameters in decoding. In some implementations, a paired VAE is provided which receives column-wise data and models row-wise parameters; each of the paired VAEs may bind their learned column- or row-wise parameters to the output of the corresponding VAE. The paired VAEs may optionally be trained via minibatches. Unobserved data may be explicitly modelled. Methods for performing inference with such VAE-based collaborative filtering systems are also disclosed, as are example applications to search and anomaly detection.

  • Patent number: 12198215
Abstract: Self-sovereign identity systems and methods for identification documents are disclosed herein. An example method includes transmitting data obtained from a near-field communications (NFC) chip of an object to the service provider. The data can include identifying information for an owner of the object. The method can include receiving a user identity packet from the service provider that is generated by the service provider based on verification of an identity of the owner and validity of the NFC chip, storing the user identity packet on a computing device, receiving a request from a first requesting device or service for the data stored on the NFC chip of the object and transmitting the user identity packet from the computing device to the first requesting device or service instead of the data.

  • Patent number: 12197293
Abstract: The present inventors devised a holistic approach for protecting serverless applications in single-cloud, multi-zone, multi-cloud, and/or non-cloud data center computing environments. An illustrative data storage management system discovers application assets, relationships, and interoperability dependencies and creates an “application entity” that references the various assets. Protection preferences apply to the application entity as a whole. An orchestration function in the system coordinates storage management operations (e.g., backup, replication, live synchronization, etc.) in a suitable order of operations gleaned from asset dependencies, if any. A set of copies of the application's discovered assets are generated in coordinated fashion and represent a point-in-time copy of the application. The point-in-time copy can be restored and/or migrated to other computing services by the data storage management system.

  • Patent number: 12198821
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating remote care management involving a patient having an implantable medical device (IMD). Upon establishing a remote care session between a patient controller device and a clinician programmer, wherein the clinician and the patient are remotely located with respect to each other, input from the patient or the clinician may be received via a user interface control associated with a particular functionality or aspect of the remote care session, including audiovisual (AV) communications, remote therapy programming, and related context. Responsive to the user input, a dialog interface is effectuated at one of the patient controller device and/or the clinician programmer. A user characterization label is received via the dialog interface from the user, wherein the user characterization label is indicative of a subjective assessment of the particular functionality of the remote care session, which may be used in generating user-labeled data pertaining thereto.

  • Patent number: 12197379
Abstract: As general matrix multiply (GEMM) bottlenecks are ameliorated by tensor parallelism that is distributed to several processors, layer normalization (LN) surfaces as a latent bottleneck as it is not amenable to distribution. LN performance is linear to embedding size, which is extremely large in some AI models. Moreover, aggressive tiling prevents the use of internal pipelining. The disclosed implementation addresses this issue, composing LN from simpler operations and this composition is amenable to pipelining, facilitating efficient implementation of large AI models (e.g., GPTs). In both forward and backward propagation, the pipeline is stretched longer with improved balance across stages. This strategy improves throughput for larger batch-sizes as the workload benefits from pipelining operations for better performance. Furthermore, avoiding stochastic rounding further improves performance. In addition, LayerNorm checkpoints facilitate efficient computation of gradients during backward propagation.

  • Patent number: 12193710
Abstract: Push activated intraosseous (IO) access devices include replaceable and rechargeable or non-rechargeable battery packs, or spring driven devices. Intraosseous access devices often require training to ensure correct placement of the access device. The disclosed devices include an intuitive operation with a unidirectional activation and drive force application. The trigger can be both activated and deactivated automatically to prevent premature activation and prevent “backwalling”. The device can include various indicators to further guide a user in placing the device correctly, with little or no training. Devices can further include replaceable battery packs to ensure a full charge is available when the device is used, and to provide a multi-use device that requires less storage.

  • Patent number: 12200914
Abstract: A heat-transfer system includes a cooling circuit configured to convey heated coolant from one or more cooling nodes to one or more heat-rejection devices, and to convey the cooled coolant from the one or more heat-rejection devices to the one or more cooling nodes. Each cooling node facilitates a transfer of heat to the coolant, the heat being from one or more heat-dissipation devices and a corresponding heat load on the respective cooling node. Each heat-rejection device facilitates heat transfer from the coolant to another medium. The heat-transfer system also has a selectively operable flow-control device configured to control a flow rate of the coolant through a segment of the coolant circuit. A control logic selectively operates the flow-control device responsive to an output from one or more sensors to tailor a cooling capacity available to each cooling node to the real-time heat load on the respective cooling node.

  • Publication number: 20250013542
Abstract: An illustrative cloud-based air-gapped data storage management (destination) system obtains authorized access to other (source) systems' backup copies, replicates those copies within the destination system, parses supplemental metadata included in the source backup copies, and integrates the replica copies into the destination system as though natively created there. Replica copies are integrated as backup copies without first restoring the source backup copies to a native data format. The source system lacks knowledge of or connectivity with the destination system, thus maintaining an “air gap” between the systems. The destination system preferably operates in a cloud computing environment. The destination system uses supplemental metadata from the replica copies to re-create or mimic the source's computing environment and to restore backed up data from the replica copies.
