Publication number: 20200078227Abstract: Various methods for detecting moisture in briefs compatible with high volume manufacturing are disclosed. The embodiments herein facilitate protection of the method of adding moisture sensing to a diaper, but could also be used to add sensing to pads and bandages. The primary design intent is optimal moisture detection and low per unit cost. Electrodes within a garment measure electrical properties of the electrodes to determine if the item has contacted moisture. The target moisture is urine, however, other sources and types of moisture can also be sensed. Additional analysis capabilities can be added by selecting particular electrodes or add materials that may react with chemical components of the moisture. Applications of the research Include monitor of incontinence using smart brief (e.g. diaper); monitor perspiration, bleeding, or failure of the protective garment; and monitoring exposure of an item to moisture, including but not limited to inanimate items.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 11, 2018Publication date: March 12, 2020Applicants: BioLink Systems, LLC, University of Louisville Research FoundationInventors: Ken Heyl, Doug Jackson, John Naber, Roger King

Patent number: 10584485Abstract: The present Stacked Wall Truss Construction and its use in multi¬story buildings makes use of prefabricated modular wall elements (100) that are interconnected in three dimensions to enable the rapid completion of building construction with improved quality of construction over that found in traditional multi-story building construction. The resultant building is a structural steel frame without the use of stacking columns. Vierendeel trusses (100) with vertical members (101-105) of tube steel are used, thereby the construction process becomes stacking trusses fit up as complete walls, not erecting columns. An inner “Mating Member” (131-135) enables each truss to be near perfectly positioned on top of the installed truss below.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2017Date of Patent: March 10, 2020Assignee: Vega Building Systems LLCInventor: David L. Patent number: 10583389Abstract: An atmospheric water generation system comprises water vapor consolidation systems configured to increase the relative humidity of a controlled air stream prior to condensing water from the controlled air stream. The water vapor consolidation system comprises a fluid-desiccant flow system configured to decrease the temperature of the desiccant to encourage water vapor to be absorbed by the desiccant from an atmospheric air flow. The desiccant flow is then heated to encourage water vapor evaporation from the desiccant flow into a controlled air stream that circulates within the system. The humidity of the controlled air stream is thereby increased above the relative humidity of the atmospheric air to facilitate condensation of the water vapor into usable liquid water.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2017Date of Patent: March 10, 2020Assignee: Genesis Systems LLCInventor: David J.
