Abstract: A system for laterally supporting a vertical shoring post is provided. The system includes a head and a jaw assembly, the jaw assembly movably mounted to the head, the head configured for selective engagement with a shoring post, and the jaw assembly configured for engagement with a beam that provides lateral support to the shoring post. The head comprises first and second arms that extend in the same general direction and when engaging the shoring post the first and second arms are disposed upon opposite sides of the shoring post. The jaw assembly includes a fixed jaw and a movable jaw, the moving member pivotably connected to the fixed jaw, wherein the fixed jaw and movable jaws are configured to receive an end of the beam therebetween.
Abstract: A thrust reverser assembly for a gas turbine engine including a core engine, a nacelle surrounding at least a portion of the core engine to define a bypass duct between the nacelle and the core engine, including a translating cowl moveable between a first position and a second position, a blocker door movable between a stowed position and a deployed position. The thrust reverser assembly includes multiple actuator assemblies to both translate the cowl and deploy the blocker door.
Abstract: Half tone offset may be utilized to mitigate signal distortion caused by DC bias within OFDM-based systems. In addition a cyclic prefix may be utilized within an OFDM-based system to mitigate inter-symbol-interference. Presented herein are techniques and methods to efficiently apply a cyclic prefix to an OFDM symbol with half tone offset for low power systems.

Abstract: A method includes generating, at a first computing device, a header for media packets, the header including a header flag in a first portion of the header and a variable length header field in a second portion of the header, the first portion contiguous to the second portion, wherein the header flag includes a value indicating a length of the header field. The method also includes generating a body for the media packets, generating the media packets based on the header and the body, generating a protocol report based on media data, and sending the media packets and the protocol report to a second computing device. The protocol report includes information to enable the second computing device to account for successful receipt of the body of the media packets by the second computing device.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products directed to testing a System-in-a-Package (SIP) using an Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) machine. A functional representation of one or more tests to be performed in the SIP is loaded in a memory located on a load board, the load board located on the ATE machine. A test controller located on at least one of the SIP and the load board is caused to retrieve and store the one or more tests to be performed in the SIP. The test controller is instructed to conduct the one or more tests in the SIP.

The first side wall includes at least one tab (42a) hingedly connected thereto. The at least one tab is configured to provide a support structure for facilitating stacking of the carton. Abstract: Variable compression ratio engines and methods for homogeneous charge, compression ignition operation. The engines effectively premix the fuel and air well before compression ignition. Various embodiments are disclosed including embodiments that include two stages of compression to obtain compression ratios well above the mechanical compression ratio of the engine cylinders for compression ignition of difficult to ignite fuels, and a controllable combustion chamber volume for limiting the maximum temperature during combustion. Energy storage with energy management are also disclosed.
Abstract: A system and method are provided for use with streaming blocks of data, each of the streaming blocks of data including a number bits of data. The system includes a first compressor and a second compressor. The first compressor can receive and store a number n blocks of the streaming blocks of data, can receive and store a block of data to be compressed of the streaming blocks of data, can compress consecutive bits within the block of data to be compressed based on the n blocks of the streaming blocks of data, can output a match descriptor and a literal segment. The match descriptor is based on the compressed consecutive bits. The literal segment is based on a remainder of the number of bits of the data to be compressed not including the consecutive bits. The second compressor can compress the literal segment and can output a compressed data block including the match descriptor and a compressed string of data based on the compressed literal segment.
Abstract: Various methods for detecting moisture in briefs compatible with high volume manufacturing are disclosed. The embodiments herein facilitate protection of the method of adding moisture sensing to a diaper, but could also be used to add sensing to pads and bandages. The primary design intent is optimal moisture detection and low per unit cost. Electrodes within a garment measure electrical properties of the electrodes to determine if the item has contacted moisture. The target moisture is urine, however, other sources and types of moisture can also be sensed. Additional analysis capabilities can be added by selecting particular electrodes or add materials that may react with chemical components of the moisture. Applications of the research Include monitor of incontinence using smart brief (e.g. diaper); monitor perspiration, bleeding, or failure of the protective garment; and monitoring exposure of an item to moisture, including but not limited to inanimate items.

Abstract: Systems and methods of (remotely) controlling aspects of pools and spas and of modifying water contained therein are detailed. Internet-enabled access to pool and spa controllers may happen without any need for users to create firewall ports or utilize static internet protocol addresses. Certain networking devices may be configured using a USB connection or SD card, avoiding any requirement for an Ethernet cable or supplying separate power to the devices during configuration. Other devices may be configured wirelessly, without need of any USB connection or SD card. Abstract: This disclosure provides various embodiments of systems and methods for secure communications. In one aspect, the system includes a secure payment module (SPM) in a fuel dispenser and a point-of-sale (POS) system. The POS system stores a public key certificate uniquely identifying the SPM and is configured to dynamically generate a first session key. The POS system encrypts the first session key with a public key associated with the public key certificate, and transmits the encrypted first session key to the SPM. The SPM, which stores a private key associated with the public key certificate, is configured to receive and decrypt the first session key. The SPM is further configured to receive a set of magnetic card data from a card reader, encrypt the set of magnetic card data with the first session key, and transmit the encrypted set of magnetic card data to the POS system.
Abstract: A liquid treatment system includes: a filter casing including a structural wall, a first screen formed though the structural wall, and a second screen formed though the structural wall; and a liquid treatment cartridge configured for placement in the filter casing between the first and second screens. The liquid treatment cartridge includes a cartridge casing having an upper end and a lower end, and an inflatable seal surrounding the cartridge casing at an intermediary position between the upper end and lower end.
