Abstract: A braking controller and method in a towing vehicle towing one or more towed vehicles as a combination vehicle provides brake control of the one or more towed vehicles based on a level of braking force applied to the towing vehicle. A non-enhanced braking mode applies a first level of braking force to the towed vehicles in a predetermined reduced proportion relative to the level of braking force applied to the towing vehicle, and an enhanced braking mode applies a second level of braking force to the towed vehicles greater than the first level of braking force. The enhanced braking mode strategy is used unless trailer capability information reported by one or more the trailers fails to match against expected trailer capability information.

Abstract: An RF communications transmitter system comprising a processor, a switch and a plurality of feedhorns. The switch is configured to receive a feed signal of a frequency bandwidth. The processor is configured to control the switch to provide the feed signal to each of at least two of the feedhorns for a respective time period. Each of the at least two feedhorns is configured to generate a beam during the respective time period that the feed signal is provided thereto, wherein the beam is formed based on the feed signal and is transmitted to cover a geographic area of the Earth. The formation and transmission of the beams by the feedhorns is controlled by the processor to provide a time-based allocation of bandwidth amongst the beams based on the time period that the feed signal is provided to each of the feedhorns and a respective frequency/polarization reuse scheme.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a box fastener anchor that is removably connectable or permanently attached to a fastener and that has a tooth that can pierce a box. The anchor can have a base with two lips in one embodiment. The base has a hole between the lips with a securing ring with distally located rims that combine to form a ring. The rims and lips can be used to connect the anchor to a box fastener. The base further has a base flange at one end. The anchor also has an arm with a tooth at the distal end of the arm. The tooth has a piercing element at one end. The tooth can have a curved or straight body. The arm can mate with the base to lock the arm in a closed position. A release is provided for unlocking the arm from the base.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed and include a method that includes adding a training symbol prefix to an OFDM symbol frame, the prefix including a plurality of training symbols, each including N sub-symbol fields. N/2 of the sub-symbol fields are zero valued, and N/2 of the sub-symbol fields carry corresponding symbols of a N/2 sub-symbol pseudo random training symbol. A first half of the pseudo random training symbol is symmetrical to a second half of the pseudo random training symbol. An OFDM N-sub-carrier transmission carries the prefix as signal power on a first N/2 of its N sub-carriers and suppresses signal power on a second N/2 of the sub-carriers. The first N/2 and second N/2 sub-carriers alternate in the frequency domain.
Abstract: A method of training a trainee includes a sensor configured to measure at least one biological indicator of stress in the trainee. The method includes presenting a training segment in the simulation while monitoring inputs from the trainee. Data is read from the sensor and an instantaneous stress level of the trainee is calculated from the data. If the instantaneous stress level greater than a predetermined value, a stress-change feature is selected that will reduce stress and applying the stress-change feature to the training segment, thereby reducing complexity of the training segment for reducing the instantaneous stress of the trainee. for example, the stress-change feature is changing the weather, adding/removing bad drivers, adding/removing pedestrians, etc.

Abstract: An electric submersible pump assembly with integral heat exchanger, high-speed self-aligning bearings, and dual bearing thrust chamber is described. The described pump assembly, modules, and components may be used for operating an electric submersible pump at high speeds as well as over a wide range of speeds and flowrates without replacing downhole equipment. The described pump assembly may be shorter than comparable pump assemblies and may be assembled offsite, thereby leading to faster and easier installation with less down time. Abstract: A method for determining routes for a data circuit between source and destination terminals, where the circuit is formed via satellites traveling in respective non-geostationary orbits, and a total time during which the circuit is active is divided into time intervals.
