Abstract: A header assembly for use in combination with a deep fat frying cooking device includes a casing having three external venting systems and two internal passageways associated therewith. Heated air from within an enlarged chamber surrounding the cooking kettles of the cooking device can flow upwardly through one of the internal passageways and the first venting system of the header assembly into the surrounding atmosphere external to the header assembly and the cooking device. As a result of this convention flow of heated air and the close proximity of the first venting system with the second venting system, cooling air from the exterior is drawn through the other internal passageway and the second and third venting systems. This cooling air serves to protect a heat-sensitive microprocessor controlled cooking computer, which extends partially into the second passageway, from being subject to temperatures above its maximum operating temperature.

Abstract: The apparatus comprises: firstly a support (4) having at least one surface (40) which is made of soft, elastically deformable material and which includes a groove (5) suitable for receiving the ends of two optical fibers (1, 2) to be connected in end-to-end contact; and secondly a member (8) which is kept bearing against the support surface and the ends of the optical fibers. Said member (8) comprises a polished rigid part such that keeping it bearing against the support surface (40) exerts a compression action on the said ends of the fibers, giving rise to radial reaction from the wall of the groove against the ends of the fibers, and thus ensuring that the fibers are aligned.
Abstract: This invention relates to an air injection bath for a therapeutic use, the bath comprising a tub having in its base air injection nozzles supplied by a turbine, heating and ozonizing devices being disposed in a box outside the safety perimeter of the bath, the box having an electric and electronic control system receiving air pulses from a mobile control grip or from a stationary control panel disposed near the user for controlling various operations for air injection, heating of the injected air, ozone injection, the direction and speed of air injection into the bath and the starting and stopping of the complete facility.
Abstract: A cooling apparatus for a wire drawing machine including a capstan applying a pulling action on a wire moving through a die and around which the drawn wire is wound, forming turns, includes a caisson in the shape of a circular sector and of tubular section, positioned in the vicinity of the capstan. The caisson is supplied with a cooling liquid and is arranged in such manner as, on the one hand, to direct the cooling liquid toward the wire turns wound on the capstan, and on the other hand, to collect and discharge the liquid after the cooling operation.
Abstract: A submersible pump and filter unit for pumping and filtering acids comprises a removable pump cartridge (13) and filter unit (14) housed in respective cylindrical cavities (11, 12) in a housing (10). The pump cartridge (13) is a gas-driven double acting bellows unit with a cylindrical body (13A), the bellows (21, 22) and the body (13A) being formed of PTFE. Each bellows (21, 22) is at a respective end of a reciprocating rod (36) which is journaled coaxially in the body (13A) and which extends through a central aperture (16) in the body (13A). Control gear including a logic control valve (41) is housed in the aperture (16) and is thereby encased in PTFE structure and shielded from acid.
Abstract: The invention relates to a loop antenna tuned by means of a variable capacitor. The antenna includes, in parallel with the variable capacitor (4), a switchable state variable inductor (11).The invention is particularly applicable to antennas for HF radio links at powers of up to 1 kW.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a jointed pneumatic gripping apparatus. The apparatus is characterized in that the intermediate guiding element (8) is elastically deformable during the gripping stage, in particular when passing overcenter beyond the aligned position.
Abstract: The invention relates to a fatigue indicator for mechanical parts subjected to repeated stresses, which comprises two thick elements spaced apart from one another and joined together by a thin web having a slit, these two elements being incorporated in the part or fixed thereto so as to move with respect to one another upon application of stress on the mechanical part in a plane which is parallel to the plane of the web, the thin web being thus subjected to a shearing stress in its plane, and wherein the slit of the thin web extends from one of the edges of the web in the direction of relative movement to a blind end so that, when the part is stressed, two cracks appear from corners of the blind end of the slit, extend progressively in the web and finish by reaching the opposite edge of the web or joining cracks coming from this opposite edge, the web thus being detached or practically detached.
Abstract: The direct-current motor comprises at least one field winding supplied intermittently with direct-current voltage in order to produce a driving torque by interaction with permanent-magnetic poles which rotate with respect to the winding. The electromotive force of induction produced in the winding by the relative rotation of the permanent-magnetic poles is detected by means of a voltage measurement during the time intervals which elapse when the winding is not energized. A low-speed signal is produced when the electromotive force is below a pre-established threshold in correlation with the desired speed-threshold value.

Abstract: A wire cooling system for use in a wire drawing machine includes a capstan around the periphery of which is wound the wire to be drawn, thereby forming a jacket. A plurality of ports are formed in the capstan and open onto the periphery thereof. Cooling liquid is supplied to a first port and thereby passes through a space of the periphery of the capstan and the turns of the wire forming the jacket, thus cooling the wire. Compressed gas is supplied to a second port, thereby draining and recovering the cooling liquid. Compressed gas is supplied to a third port spaced axially of the first port, thereby controlling the circulation of the cooling liquid through the space.
