Abstract: Method for the production of an initial rubber composition, in the course of which the following steps are carried out in succession: A—a rubber matrix, reinforcing fillers, and other components if required, with the exception of the cross-linking system, are introduced into a mixing means of the internal mixer type, comprising a mixing chamber in which there are mounted rotors which are driven in rotation and have radial projections forming a gap (e) between themselves and the vessel, B—said components are mixed in the chamber until a uniform mixture is obtained, care being taken to ensure that the temperature of the mixture remains at or below 170° C., after which C—the rotation speed of the rotors is adjusted so as to bring the rubber composition to a dropping temperature in the range from 180° C. to 240° C.

Abstract: The problem addressed by the present invention is providing a method for producing microparticles. At least two fluids to be processed, a raw material fluid that contains a raw material and a processing fluid that contains a substance for processing the raw material are mixed in a thin film fluid formed between at least two surfaces for processing that are disposed so as to face each other, that can approach and separate from each other and at least one of which rotates relative to the other, and microparticles of the raw material that is processed are obtained. At this time, the proportion of the microparticles of the raw material which has been processed that coalesces with each other is controlled by controlling the circumferential speed of the rotation in a confluence section in which the raw material fluid and processing fluid flow together.
Abstract: A tire with a radial carcass reinforcement, wherein the reinforcing elements of at least one layer of the carcass reinforcement are non-wrapped three-layered metal cords with an unsaturated external layer which in what is referred to as the permeability test return a mean flow rate less than 4 cm3/min and at least 2 points of zero flow rate over a length of 2 cm.

Abstract: The present invention comprises methods and apparatus for preparing a tread for application to a tire carcass by abrading a bottom side of the tread. In particular, the tread has a thickness extending depthwise between a top side and a bottom side of the tread. The tread thickness extends in a longitudinal direction and in a lateral direction between opposing sides of the tread. The tread further includes a void extending within the tread thickness and an extension of the tread extending across a width of the void and as a portion protruding outwardly from the tread bottom side by a distance. Such methods include stretching the tread such that the width of the tread void increases and the distance by which the extension protrudes from the bottom side decreases. Such methods further include abrading the bottom side of the tread.

Abstract: A demountable electrical panel comprises a spring under tension that is easily assembled by being laid to rest in a recess in a mounting plate put under tension to make electrical contact with a circuit board when the device is assembled.
Abstract: A method for producing a nanoparticle to separate a diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment includes separating an ?-type diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment nanoparticle having high crystallinity by carrying out separation of the diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment and crystal type transformation to the ?-type with substantially a single step. The ?-type diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment nanoparticle is separated by mixing a diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment solution having the diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment dissolved in a solvent and an alcohol solvent containing an alcohol compound solvent in a thin film fluid formed between at least two processing surfaces 1 and 2 arranged to be opposite to each other so as to be able to approach to and separate from each other, at least one of which rotates relative to the other. An acidic substance is contained in at least any one of the diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment solution and the alcohol solvent at this moment.
Abstract: A method of laying a pipeline comprising a plurality of tubular components is disclosed. The method includes depositing a weld material onto a surface of a first tubular component of the plurality of tubular components and machining a profile into the weld material. The profile includes a support shoulder into the weld material. The method further includes suspending the first tubular component in a vertical or near vertical position and supporting the first tubular component by the support shoulder. A further tubular component of the plurality of tubular components is connected to a free end of the first tubular component. The support shoulder is formed at a point spaced from the free end of the first tubular component thereby facilitating connection of the first tubular component to the second tubular component.
Abstract: A tire having aggressive tread features with improvements in uniformity that can also improve endurance is provided along with a method and apparatus for manufacturing such a tire. The tire and its manner of manufacture can achieve a reduction or elimination of certain non-uniformities that can occur during the molding of large tread blocks. This can improve temperature performance to provide increased tire endurance. The present invention further relates to a tire made using such a method and that may have layers of different material properties for different tire performances. In one embodiment, a layering technique that uses at least one layer extending across the full axial width of the tread and having scalloped or notched lateral or axial edges is provided. In yet another embodiment, tread blocks are built upon the scalloped layer(s) to provide more material where it is needed most to create tread features.

Abstract: Method for manufacturing a metal cord with three concentric layers including a first layer of diameter dc made up of M wire(s) of diameter d1, around which layer are wound together as a helix at a pitch p2, as a second layer, N wires of diameter d2, around which are wound as a helix at pitch p3, as a third layer, P wires of diameter d3. The N wires of the second layer are assembled around the layer to form, at a point called “assembling point”, an intermediate cord called “core strand” of M+N construction; upstream and/or downstream of the assembling point, the layer and/or the core strand is sheathed with a rubber or rubber composition by passing through at least one extrusion head; then the P wires of the third layer are assembled around the core strand to form a cord of M+N+P construction thus rubberized from the inside.
