    Abstract: A data scrambling and descrambling technology based on logical addresses. A data storage device with the data scrambling and descrambling technology includes a non-volatile memory and a controller. The controller generates a data scrambling seed according to a logical writing address issued from the host, scrambles the write data issued from the host with the data scrambling seed and then stores the scrambled write data into the non-volatile memory. The controller further generates a data descrambling seed according to a logical reading address issued from the host, and descrambles the read data retrieved from the non-volatile memory by the data descrambling seed. The controller further processes the descrambled read data for data checking and correction.

    Abstract: System and method embodiments are provided for null filling of IQ waveform. In an embodiment method, samples below a predetermined threshold are selected from a plurality of samples of an input signal. Amplitude values of a complex null-fill function are then calculated to push amplitudes of the samples below the predetermined threshold to a signal level at the predetermined threshold. The phase values of the complex null-fill function are calculated to push the samples of the input signal in an IQ plane in a defined direction from a point closest to a zero signal value. The resulting complex null-fill function is filtered within a predetermined bandwidth of the input signal, and then added to the input signal to provide a modified input signal for amplification.

    Abstract: Concepts of omnidirectional vehicle transport are described. In one embodiment, an omnidirectional vehicle includes a transportation platform, a drive system, and wheels. At a surface level, the vehicle can maneuver in any direction, including longitudinal and lateral directions. The vehicle can also be positioned to engage the wheels with a track having a rack gear to engage with the wheels. A control system of the vehicle can then drive the wheels in engagement with the track to raise the vehicle to a second level. At the second level, the vehicle can maneuver to transfer items onto the vehicle for transportation of the items back to the surface level. After the items are transferred onto the vehicle, it can be positioned for engagement with the track, and the control system can drive the wheels to lower the vehicle to the surface level and offload the items.

In some embodiments, the controller is provided on a motherboard. In order to support a different numbers of bays, various management riser cards are provided on the motherboard to expand the capacity of the backplane while still using the same controller. The backplane supports a serial addressing scheme and shift registers to identify ports connected to the storage device controller to allow for different numbers of storage media to be connected to the motherboard. This allows the storage device controller to use the same addressing protocol and software for any number of drive bays.

During transition operations, the maximum output voltage value is continuously adjusted between the first and second maximum output voltage values, such that the LED load exceeds its warm up time prior to steady state operation.
