  • Patent number: 9531720
Abstract: According to non-limiting embodiments disclosed herein, the functionality of an object cache in a server can be extended to monitor and track web traffic, and in particular to perform rate accounting on selected web traffic. As the server communicates with clients (e.g., receiving HTTP requests and responding to those requests), the server can use its existing object cache storage and existing object cache services to monitor web traffic by recording how often a client makes a particular request in the object cache and/or other data about the requests. Preferably, the object cache is still used for conventional caching of objects, the object cache thus providing a dual role by storing both web objects and rate accounting data.

  • Patent number: 9527784
Abstract: Disclosed herein are processes for producing and separating ethane and ethylene. In some embodiments, an oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) product gas comprising ethane and ethylene is introduced to a separation unit comprising two separators. Within the separation unit, the OCM product gas is separated to provide a C2-rich effluent, a methane-rich effluent, and a nitrogen-rich effluent. Advantageously, in some embodiments the separation is achieved with little or no external refrigeration requirement.

  • Patent number: 9529428
Abstract: Various embodiments provide methods and systems for presenting content to users on a computing device. In some embodiments, the computing device is configured to determine content or object of interest on the display screen of the computing device by using head position information of the user. For example, the content or object of interest can be extrapolated and determined from a 3D head position of the user and the relative position of the computing device. Depending on the content or object of interest, one or more actions (e.g., zooming in or out, rendering advertisement, or auto-focusing) related to the content or object of interest can be performed on the computing device.

  • Patent number: 9531967
Abstract: A line scanner measures 3D coordinates of an object surface and includes a projector with a light source that projects a line of light at the object surface. The line scanner also has a camera with a 2D array of light sensors and electronics that controls the exposure and readout times of each light sensor, the exposure time being controlled in either rows or columns of the array in a non-sequential manner, the readout time being controlled in either rows or columns that are the same as the rows or columns whose exposure time is being controlled, each of the light sensors converts an amount of captured optical energy into a digital signal value, the captured optical energy being from a reflected line of light from the object surface. Further includes a processor that receives the digital signal values and calculates the 3D coordinates of the object surface.

  • Patent number: 9527668
Abstract: Features are disclosed for using location awareness, bin capacity, and environmental cues to provide in context guidance to the associate when stowing items such as at a fulfillment center. In accordance with aspects of the present disclosure, the associate may scan an item he or she may want to stow. In response, lights on the bins in the associate's vicinity are illuminated to indicate bins in which the item can be stowed (e.g., because the item fits in the bin) without breaking stow etiquette. For example, in order to prevent mix up, stow etiquette may indicate that two types of erasers should not be stored in the same bin. As yet another example, stow etiquette may indicate that an item should not be stowed in a bin, even if it fits and there is room, so that a total weight for the bin is not exceeded.
