Abstract: Devices, systems, and, methods are disclosed for processing stylus interactions with a device and drawing the results of those interactions in a manner that reduces lag. This includes the introduction of a separate overlay module layer that can be updated separately from a normal view system/process of a computing device. In this respect, the overlay module layer may be used to remove unnecessary synchronization events to allow for quick display of stylus input events in the overlay module layer while still allowing the normal rendering process of the operating system to be followed.

Abstract: A semi-independent suspension system adapted for a rear or front drive and optionally steerable axle system of a low-floor heavy vehicle, comprising a twist beam axle assembly (1), a Panhard rod (8), and a pair of spring and shock absorber systems (9). The twist beam axle assembly (1) comprises a pair of rigid longitudinal trailing arms (3), a pair of wheel mounting members to lower the cross-beam relative to the wheel axis (2) and a straight cross-beam (7). The cross-beam is set in the right and left trailing arms and the wheel mounting members by an interference fit technique. The cross-beam (7) has an open-section and is rigid in bending but flexible in torsion. The shape of the cross-section is specifically tailored to increase and control each of the vertical and horizontal bending stiffness (7). The cross-section is characterized by having horizontal and vertical lines of symmetry, but with asymmetric horizontal and vertical geometries.
Abstract: A resource manager may monitor resources offered by a resource provider. The resource manager receives computing metrics from the resources and may perform a management action when a customer defined usage limit is satisfied. The management action may include the resource manager generating an alert, or the resource manager preventing the customer from further accessing the resources offered by the resource provider. The resource manager may also be used to reduce the cost of running a customer's application that uses resources offered by the service provider. The resource manager may also receive business metrics from the customer and determine rates of return using the business metrics and the computing metrics.

Abstract: A laser scanner that determines three-dimensional points in an environment further includes a spectrometer for determining the wavelength spectrum of chemical substances in the environment.
Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing sensing time for sensing data states stored within a plurality of memory cells are described. In some cases, the ramping of a word line connected to the plurality of memory cells may be delayed until a threshold current corresponding with a particular number of erased memory cells of the plurality of memory cells has been met or exceeded. The threshold current may be compared with a summation of a first set of detection currents corresponding with a first set of memory cells of the plurality of memory cells that have been sensed to be in a conducting state while the word line is set to a voltage level for sensing erased memory cells. The threshold current may be set based on a chip temperature and/or a particular number of bit errors that occurred during a prior sensing operation.

Abstract: A machine health monitoring method may include receiving vibration data indicating vibration of a machine or a component of the machine, determining damage to the machine or the component for each of a plurality of load cycles based on the vibration data, determining the time rate of change of the damage to the machine or the component over the plurality of load cycles, and determining a damage rate based on the time rate of change of the damage to the machine or the component relative to a baseline damage rate.

Abstract: Methods and systems for sensing memory cells using a sense amplifier that can support both ramp sensing and conventional sensing are described. With ramp sensing, a word line of a memory array may be ramped up linearly and a sensing operation may be performed by the sense amplifier while the word line is continuously being ramped up. In this case, during the sensing operation, the sense amplifier may sense a bit line of the memory array connected to a memory cell while the word line is ramping up and then transfer the result into a data latch. In contrast, with conventional sensing, a bit line of the memory array may be first precharged to a particular voltage level (e.g., a read voltage level) and then sensed while the word line is held at the particular voltage level.

Abstract: A compressor is provided and may include a shell, a hub, an insert, and at least one collar. The hub may be disposed within the shell and define an axis of rotation. The hub may include an axially extending aperture. The insert may be disposed within the aperture. The at least one collar may be disposed about the hub.
Abstract: A reticle for a semiconductor lithography process includes a glass plate having regions with a reduced optical transmission factor. The regions may include arrays of elements comprising defects such as cracks or voids which are formed by laser pulses. The regions may be adjacent to openings in an opaque material at the bottom of the reticle to shield the openings from a portion of the light which illuminates the reticle from the top. As a result, the light which exits the reticle and is used to pattern a substrate has an asymmetric intensity. This allows the substrate to be patterned with an inspection mark which indicates whether a defocus condition exists, and whether there is a positive or negative defocus condition. Related methods use a reticle to form a pattern on a substrate and for adjusting a focus condition using a reticle.

Abstract: A flexure tail of a head suspension assembly includes a structural layer, a conductive layer, a dielectric layer between the structural and conductive layers, and an insulative cover layer disposed on the conductive layer. The conductive layer includes a plurality of flexure bond pads in a terminal region of the flexure tail. The insulative cover layer includes a plurality of openings that expose each of the plurality of flexure bond pads. The dielectric layer defines a first thickness between the structural layer and the conductive layer at each of the plurality of flexure bond pads. The dielectric layer also defines a second thickness between the structural layer and the conductive layer adjacent to the plurality of flexure bond pads in the terminal region of the flexure tail. The second thickness is less than the first thickness by a thickness difference that is no less than a cover layer thickness.

Abstract: Embodiments receive an indication of initiation of communication from a controlled-environment facility resident, using a communications device, with another controlled-environment facility resident. A determination is made whether the residents are allowed to communicate and the communication is established between the communications device and another communications device in use by the other resident. The residents may be residents of different or the same controlled-environment facility(ies). The communication may be monitored and/or a database of residents that communicate with one another may be compiled. The communication between the controlled-environment facility residents may proceed, even despite a determination or predetermination that the residents are not allowed to communicate with one another, so the communication may be monitored.
