  • Patent number: 5910908
Abstract: A FIR filter for programmable decimation by powers of two has an input coupled to receive an input signal and an output coupled to the input. The FIR filter uses context registers, where the number of contexts per context register is equal to the maximum desired decimation power m. An output context register coupled to provide the output simultaneously contains all of the decimation output results, the desired decimation result being selected as one of the output contexts. A cascade of timing circuits in response to an initial clock signal and an initial valid signal at one-half the frequency of the initial clock signal provide timing signals for storing the decimation results as separate contexts in each context register. At any time any desired decimation result is available for output.

  • Patent number: 5905539
Abstract: A wipe solid generator has a first memory with one memory location for each pixel during the active interval of a line of a video signal and a second memory with one memory location for each active line during a field of a video signal. A processor calculates numerical values, loads numerical values into the first and second memories, and reads numerical values from the first and second memories synchronously with a video signal. An arithmetic section carries out a combinational arithmetic operation on numerical values read from the memories and provides an output wipe solid signal dependent on the result of the operation.

  • Patent number: 5904350
Abstract: A method and apparatus for deskewing a sheet of media traveling through a paper path in a printer is provided. A buckle is formed in the sheet of media by over-driving the sheet into stationary deskew rollers that form a deskew nip downstream. A deskewing bias element includes a plurality of articulated segmented surfaces that contact the buckle and urge the leading edge of the sheet into the deskew nip. The buckle force combined with the biasing force from the deskewing bias element aligns the leading edge of the sheet with the deskew nip across the full width of the sheet, thereby removing any skew.

  • Patent number: 5905538
Abstract: A system for switching video of two different standards that uses a single crosspoint matrix and a single local controller coupled to two memory blocks for storage of crosspoint selection data. The crosspoint selection data is written to the crosspoint matrix according to the video reference signals that correspond to the crosspoint selection data to be written. Switching of the crosspoints then occurs according to the video reference signal corresponding to the crosspoints to be switched.

  • Patent number: 5905383
Abstract: A multi-chip module development substrate (12) contains embedded test circuitry (30). Vias (38) connect I/O channels (Cn) of the test circuitry with conductive runs in interconnect layers (16,18) that are part of an interconnect structure (17) of the development substrate. Integrated circuit chips (14) are then mounted on the multi-chip module development substrate in selected electrical contact with the conductive runs. The embedded test circuitry includes multiple timing analyzer circuits (TAn) and multiple analog probe circuits en). In a preferred embodiment, these timing analyzer circuits and analog probe circuits are provided in redundant pairs, with a pair of each associated with each of the I/O channels. Multiple pairs of each kind of circuit are grouped within test cells (70) physically arranged in rectangular areas. Adjacent test circuit cells may be rotated with respect to each other to achieve more efficient connections to interconnect structure.

  • Patent number: 5903162
Abstract: An adapter for a measurement test instrument electrical probe has a flexible dielectric substrate with electrically conductive runs thereon. One end of the conductive runs has first electrical contacts with a pitch geometry corresponding to the pitch geormetry of electrical contacts of an electronic device that is electically connected to a substrate via the electrical contacts of the device. The other end of the conductive runs has second electrical contacts that have a pitch geometry compatible with the electrical probe of the measurement test instrument.

  • Patent number: 5896121
Abstract: A data-dependent color display for vector data separates chrominance from a video signal as a pair of orthogonal chrominance components. The pair of chrominance components are used as addresses to access a vector memory. An intensity value at the location within the vector memory accessed by the chrominance pair of addresses is incremented by each such access. During a display cycle the intensity values from the vector memory are converted into color values as a function of their locations within the vector memory. The color values are displayed in a display area on a display screen to provide a colored vector display where the color at any point along the vector display is a function of the point's angular position with respect to a center of the display and distance from the center.

  • Patent number: 5894324
Abstract: Alignment of two video sequences, one being a reference video sequence and the other being a processed video sequence corresponding to the reference video sequence, is performed using selected partial pictures from the reference video sequence. The reference video sequence is evaluated for portions that have maximum information content spatially and/or temporally to select the partial pictures, and the location and size of the partial pictures are stored together with the reference video sequence. The processed video sequence is then initially aligned to the reference video sequence by first finding the locations of features from the partial pictures in the processed video sequence to provide a coarse misalignment error between the two video sequence, and then using a correlation algorithm with a scanning window based on the size of the partial pictures to refine the misalignment error.
