Abstract: To avoid recourse to a certification authority and to keep a trace of delegation to a delegate by a titleholder, a terminal of the titleholder draws up a second electronic certificate different from the normal certificate of the delegate. The second certificate includes at least a delegation attribute and a signature of the data in the second certificate by means of a private key of the titleholder. The titleholder behaves like a certification authority in respect of the second certificate, which is used for cryptographic actions by the delegate in the name of the titleholder.
Abstract: A method of fabricating an SON structure semiconductor device is described. There is formed, on a silicon substrate, a stack of layers comprising first and second successive combinations. Each successive combination has a bottom silicon-germanium alloy (Site) layer and a top silicon layer. In a conventional way, a gate dielectric layer, a gate, spacers, source and drain regions, and an external passivating layer are formed by ionic implantation. A vertical hole is formed in the gate as far as the bottom Site layer to etch a part of the Site layers to form tunnels. The walls of the hole and the tunnels are then internally passivated so that the tunnels can remain empty or be filled.
Abstract: A method for dynamically adding a new channel to a group of virtually concatenated channels carrying traffic to a network element (NE) of a synchronous network. By this method if a delay associated with the new channel is longer than a delay associated with the group of virtually concatenated channels then traffic received along the group of virtually concatenated channels is delayed until the group of virtually concatenated channels and the new channel are time-aligned, and then the new channel is added to the group. If the delay associated with the new channel is shorter than the delay associated with the group of virtually concatenated channels then traffic in the new channel is delayed until the new channel and the group of virtually concatenated channels are time-aligned, and then the new channel will be added to the group.
Abstract: A sound pick-up and reproduction system includes at least two sound sensors, such as microphones, situated at different distances from a sound reproduction device, such as a loudspeaker. A processor responds to amplitudes and phases of signals outputted by the at least two sound sensors to control a signal outputted to an amplifier and adapted to drive the sound reproduction device, thereby reducing echoes in the sound reproduction device output caused by acoustic coupling between the at least two sound sensors and the sound reproduction device.
Abstract: A method of conjoint detection of a set of CDMA codes received at a plurality of antennas of a receiver like a mobile telephone receiver. The codes are transmitted via a transmission channel with transfer matrix A satisfying the equation e=A.d+n, where d is the set of symbols of the codes transmitted, n is an additional noise vector and e is the set of received samples.
Abstract: A method for requesting a grant for Medium Access Control (MAC) being applied to a Passive Optical Network (PON) system. The method includes the steps of: a) deciding a period of a mini slot (Tms), which is necessary for a plurality of Optical Network Units (ONU) to transmit upstream cells to an Optical Line Termination (OLT); b) deciding a period of a divided slot (Tds) and a link overhead (Co) based on the period of the mini slot (Tms); c) calculating a length of the mini slot based on information to be transmitted to the OLT and a protocol being used; and d) requesting a grant for a MAC protocol between the plurality of the ONUs by calculating and allocating optimal parameters based on the length of the mini slot.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an echo reduction method implemented with a multi-sensor sound pickup device (8) forming an antenna (10), and a sound playback device (13). The method consists in subjecting the output signals ym(t) from the sensors (11m) to complex weights w(f), said weights w(f) being calculated by maximizing the directivity factor Fd(f) under constraints at low frequencies and in the near field. The invention also provides an echo reduction apparatus (6). The apparatus comprises: a multi-sensor sound pickup device (8) forming an antenna (10); means for calculating a first constraint; and means for calculating a second constraint.
Abstract: Each of ISDN extension terminals which are connected in a point-multipoint connection mode transmits call initiation information while identification information thereof is contained in the call initiation information when a call is initiated: a private branch exchange includes a main memory for storing a table representing the corresponding relationship between the extension number and service class information, and a central processing equipment for searching the service class information corresponding to the extension number contained in call initiation information from the table when the call initiation information is received from an extension, and performing call processing in accordance with the service class information thus searched, whereby even when a plurality of extension terminals are connected to an exchange in the point-multipoint connection mode, the service class management can be performed for every extension terminal.
Abstract: A method of fabricating a semiconductor device consisting of a silicon substrate on which is formed a stack of layers is described. The stack may have successively at least one first and one second combination. Each combination may consist, with reference to the substrate, of a thin bottom SiGe layer and a thin top silicon layer. A thin silicon dioxide film (18) is formed on the thin top silicon layer of the second combination so that the layer concerned supports the layers of the stack on at least two opposite lateral sides of the stack. Successive selective lateral etching of the SiGe layers is then carried out to form tunnels which are filled with a dielectric material.

Abstract: The distribution of calls to directory inquiry centers is concentrated in a server which reduces the traffic between the centers. For a given center, the server cyclically determines a forecast waiting time of the calls as a function of an average waiting time per call which it estimates for the given center, and compares the forecast waiting time with two thresholds so as to decide to route the calls to the given center or to another, less heavily loaded, inquiry center, and with two other thresholds so that the given center accepts calls from other, more heavily loaded centers, or refuses them if it is itself saturated.

Abstract: The interfacing device handles asynchronous/synchronous adaptation and rate control between the ATM flows and the flows transmitted on the wireless interface. It transposes the ATM cells (53 octets) into packets which can be transmitted directly on the wireless interface (40 octets in the case of DECT). Similarly, at the receiving end, it reconstructs the original ATM cell flow on the basis of the packets received. In order to guarantee a certain transmission quality at the level of the wireless link, the device uses a data acknowledgement and retransmission mechanism adapted to the characteristics of the synchronous wireless channel. In order to fulfil the quality of service requirements of the various applications in terms of error rates and transmission delays, the device allows the data protection mechanism to be set for each ATM connection depending on the characteristics of the service.
