Abstract: A method for adjusting data transmission speed in a VOD (video on demand) service system, wherein video data from a VOD server is transmitted to a mobile communication terminal in accordance with a VOD service request is provided. In accordance with one aspect of the invention, the method comprises analyzing power control information transmitted between a base station and a mobile communication terminal, wherein the base station provides the means of communication between the mobile communication terminal and a VOD server. The transmission speed of video data transmitted to the mobile communication terminal from the VOD server is then adjusted based on the power control information.
Abstract: This invention allows enterprises to achieve specific objectives in the management and enforcement of policies related to the use of telecommunications services. It was conceived for use in connection with traditional telephone networks that carry voice, facsimile or voice-band-data (VBD) traffic, though it is not necessarily limited to such networks. It involves measurement of the properties of traffic on a communications channel, and the use of such knowledge in combination with various ancillary properties of telecommunications service usage to guide the conditional performance of prescribed actions based on user-defined policies. The measured traffic properties include classification of the type of traffic, where the set of possible classes include zero or more classes selected from a group of general categories comprising Voice, Facsimile, Voice-Band-Data, DTMF, Audible Network Signaling, Facsimile Handshaking, Voice-Band-Data Handshaking, Silence and Unknown.
Abstract: A modular jack includes a housing, a first signal pair, and a second signal pair. The first signal pair passes through the housing and includes a first conductor and a second conductor. A first imaginary plane contains the first and the second conductor. The second signal pair passes through the housing and includes a third conductor and a fourth conductor. A second imaginary plane contains the third and the fourth conductor, which are bent at least one time to cross each other inside the housing. The first and the second imaginary plane form a first angle of 80 to 90 degrees inside the housing before the crossing of the third and the fourth conductor while they form a second angle of 0 to 10 degrees inside the housing after the crossing thereof.

Abstract: A customizable element management system and method are provided. The system and method provide a flexible and customizable element management system (EMS) through the use of Universal Modeling Language (UML) models for each of the elements of the EMS. A library of base information models are provided for various application network services, network equipment, equipment adapters, and the like. Customized versions of these base information models may be generated by simply modifying one or more components of the base information model and incorporating any business logic into the base information model. The customized models may then be “plugged into” the EMS framework after having incorporated an appropriate adapter for handling translation of native protocols to an EMS standardized framework protocol.
Abstract: A kind of suppression system of background noise of voice sounds signals, the adaptive filter of the long-time and short-time statistic characteristics of the voice sounds, since the statistic characteristics of the voice sounds signals varies as time goes by, the association coefficients of the filter also have to be adjusted according to the variation of the voice sounds signals to eliminate the unnecessary background noise, next to compensate for the high frequency attenuation of the voice sounds signals by passing through the high frequency booster so as to elevate the degree of brightness of the voice sounds signals and to acquire the voice sounds with the best quality.
Abstract: A memory for searching information through prefix analysis, in particular for building routing tables for nodes of high speed communication networks, such as Internet network, has a memory element which stores a set of information items each associated with a mask information indicative of the number of significant characters in the respective prefix and with a target information. For the implementation of a search criterion based on the longest prefix match, each cell comprises an information field that provides either an address of a next row for the continuation of a search or an information relating to a target reached, and a pair of flags (GO, TARGET) specifying the contents of the information field.
Abstract: A ring trip detector circuit and method for use with a plurality of subscriber line interface circuits each having at least one telephone unit connected to it, having a ring generator for feeding a ringing voltage to the subscriber line interface circuits, and which detects when at least one of the subscriber units goes off-hook. The voltage level of the ringing voltage is compared with a predetermined level so as to detect when any one of the ringing subscriber telephone units goes off-hook. Thereafter, each of the plurality of subscriber line interface circuits is sequentially disconnected from the ring generator, and reconnected only in the absence of an off-hook condition in the disconnected subscriber telephone unit. The ringing voltage thereby remains fed to all ringing subscriber lines for which all connected equipment is on-hook.
Abstract: A method for quickly searching a cell at a mobile station by using a synchronization channel structure of a forward link in a code division multiple access system which operates by an asynchronous mode between base stations is provided. In the method, a predetermined starting point among a plurality of locations of sync channel codes in a frame with respect to a base station having a minimal channel loss is obtained. Long code group and frame sync information at the mobile station are obtained based on outputs of a matched filter every mini slot clock location for one frame time after a starting point of a current mini slot. A long code based on the obtained long code group and frame sync information obtained is detected wherein the long code is used for band-spreading of a forward link by a current base station.

Said electrical junction strip is designed to establish electrical continuity between inlet electrical cabling and outlet electrical cabling. The comb has at least two branch connection plugs secured to a single fixing plate, and handle means for said fixing plate.
Abstract: A digital switchboard is controlled from a remote station to enable the remote station to behave in the same fashion as a local extension and thus have the same facilities as a local extension. This is achieved using a data communications path providing control and data signals to the switchboard to modify the operation of a digital line card to cause a voice terminal at the remote station to be called from the modified line card which then is available to become part of any voice traffic being handled by the switchboard. A computer terminal at the remote station operates as a softphone and together with the voice terminal simulates a call center management console.

Abstract: A method is presented for finding a shortest path from a starting place to a destination place in a traffic network including one or more turn restrictions, one or more U-turns and one or more P-turns using a Dijkstra algorithm. The method as sets a virtual arc between nodes, and assigns a virtual arc value. A smallest travel time value is selected out of total travel time values for all nodes except for the starting node, by considering existing arcs between nodes and the virtual arc and assigning the smallest travel time value to a permanent label node. The shortest path is determined by tracing the permanent nodes starting from the destination node.

Abstract: In order to cancel echo on several sound signal channels, the method consists in generating on each channel a synthetic signal having the spectral characteristics of a white noise; computing the frequency masking thresholds in several adjacent frequency bands using auditory perception properties; bringing in each frequency channel the synthetic signal level to the associated masking threshold value, so as to obtain an auxiliary signal, which is added to the signal associated with the loudspeaker of the channel concerned; supplying the resulting signal to an adaptive filter; adding the output signals of the associated adaptive filters to each microphone channel; subtracting the resulting signal received by the microphone of this channel; deducing an estimation error, on the basis of which the coefficients of the adaptive filters associated with this channel are corrected.
