Patent number: 6425099Abstract: An associative memory of the TRIE type is organised in the form of registers of 2K cells having a portal register from which binary strings are analyzed in successive slices of K bits. Each non-empty cell contains either a pointer or a reference. This reference is issued after the analysis has followed a path formed by the cells designated by the successive slices of K bits in the registers designated by the pointers encountered in these cells in succession. The data is stored in the TRIE memory in response to commands to insert and delete binary patterns of variable length, each associated with a reference, so that when a bit string is analyzed, the reference issued is that associated with the longest of the binary patterns coinciding with the start of the string being analyzed.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 1999Date of Patent: July 23, 2002Assignee: France TelecomInventors: Joël Lattmann, Christian Duret, Hervé Guesdon

Patent number: 6417672Abstract: A method for detecting the presence of a bridge tap and other types of fault in a transmission line. Initially, test signals of predetermined frequencies are transmitted into a transmitting end of the transmission line. The test signals are received at a receiving end of the transmission line and the amplitudes of the received signal are measured. A frequency response of the transmission line is computed based on the measured amplitudes. The frequency response is then analyzed for the presence of a frequency-domain signature that corresponds to one of the detectable types of fault. The presence of a bridge tap or another type of fault is identified based on the detected frequency-domain signature. The frequency-domain signature associated with a bridge tap can comprise a set of one or more attenuation dips in the frequency response, with each attenuation dip corresponding to a local minima in the frequency response.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2000Date of Patent: July 9, 2002Assignee: Sunrise Telecom, Inc.Inventor: Raymond L. Patent number: 6411600Abstract: An asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) protection triggering method using “received-AIS” flag determines whether the failure generation position is generated within a protected domain or not, by determining whether the “received-AIS” flag is “0” in case that a node detecting a failure link transmits an end-to-end AIS cell to a downstream side node, and a source point passing the end-to-end AIS cell sets the “received-AIS” flag to “1” and then receives “AIS cell receiving” signal from a sink point of the protected domain, thereby obviating a CRC-10 calculation problem and a backward compatibility.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 1998Date of Patent: June 25, 2002Assignees: Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, Korea TelecomInventors: Dong Yong Kwak, Yool Kwon

Patent number: 6408267Abstract: The decoder receives a bit stream representative of an audio signal, with a flag indicating any missing frames. For each frame, an excitation signal is formed from excitation parameters recovered in the bit stream if the frame is valid and estimated otherwise if the frame is missing, and the excitation signal is filtered by means of a synthesis filter to obtain a decoded audio signal. A linear prediction analysis is performed on the basis of the decoded audio signal obtained up to the preceding frame to estimate at least in part a synthesis filter relating to the current frame, whereby the successive synthesis filters used to filter the excitation signal, as long as there is no missing frame, conform to the estimated synthesis filters.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2000Date of Patent: June 18, 2002Assignee: France TelecomInventor: Stéphane Proust
