Abstract: In the system and method disclosed, an ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) scanning tunneling microscope (STM) tip is used to selectively desorb hydrogen atoms from the Si(100)-2X1:H surface by injecting electrons at a negative sample bias voltage. A new lithography method is disclosed that allows the STM to operate under imaging conditions and simultaneously desorb H atoms as required. A high frequency signal is added to the negative sample bias voltage to deliver the required energy for hydrogen removal. The resulted current at this frequency and its harmonics are filtered to minimize their effect on the operation of the STM's feedback loop. This approach offers a significant potential for controlled and precise removal of hydrogen atoms from a hydrogen-terminated silicon surface and thus may be used for the fabrication of practical silicon-based atomic-scale devices.

Abstract: The database management system (DBMS) receives a first instruction specifying anonymization rule information corresponding to a column of the relation table, among anonymization rule information that is present for each column included in the relation table and shows a plurality of generalization rules. The DBMS reads the column from the relation table in response to the first instruction, and generates a temporary result obtained by generalizing each attribute value of the column based on any of a plurality of generalization rules. The DBMS generates an aggregate result obtained by aggregating the temporary result. The DBMS generates an anonymization method including generalization information indicating a correspondence relationship of each attribute value of the column and any of the plurality of generalization rules when the aggregate result satisfies a disclosure rule. The DBMS generates anonymization information as a result of processing the relation table based on the first anonymization method.
Abstract: Devices, systems and methods related to techniques for performing four-chamber segmentation of echocardiograms are disclosed. In one example aspect, a method for generating segmented image data based on an input echocardiogram includes receiving an input echocardiogram that includes information associated with four chambers of a heart, performing segmentation on the information associated with the four chambers using an adversarial model that comprises a first artificial neural network with multiple layers, and combining data from selected layers of the first artificial neural network to generate an output image that includes the segmented four chambers of the heart.

Abstract: A method and system for generating a voxel-based quadratic penalty model for automatic intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) treatment planning are disclosed herein. A computing system generates an initial assignment of threshold values to a penalty function for IMRT treatment planning. The computing system receives an update to a dose value associated with the IMRT treatment planning. The computing system dynamically updates the threshold values based on the updated dose value. The computing system continues to iterate the threshold values based on further updated dose values.
