  • Patent number: 4685801
Abstract: The beam from a xenon flashed lamp driven by a pulse drive system is guided through 12 illumination beam guiding optical fibers, to illuminate a reaction liquid contained in 12 reaction cuvettes (with every 4 reaction cuvettes being located at each of 3 different measuring stations). The beam transmitted through the reaction liquid is so led as to be incident on 12 transmitted beam guiding optical fibers. The beam emission ends of the transmitted beam guiding optical fibers are inserted into a support member at positions thereof which fall on a circle. The rotor is rotated in conjunction with a shaft. A pair of reflecting mirrors are secured to the rotor and shaft, respectively. The beams emitted from the transmitted beam guiding optical fibers are independently and consecutively led along the same optical path, to a pair of slit members disposed on the side of the rotor opposite the support member, while the rotor completes one rotation.

  • Patent number: 4677672
Abstract: A continuous speech recognition circuit has a data generating circuit for calculating feature pattern data each having N-frame feature parameter data of a plurality of word-periods and reference pattern data every time one-frame period has elapsed and for sequentially generating a maximal similarity data among the calculated similarity data, and a recognition circuit for detecting a series of continuous word-periods which gives the largest similarity sum within a speech interval in accordance with the similarity data from the data generating circuit and recognizing as effective word data the word series corresponding to the detected series of continuous word-periods. The similarity data in each word period is obtained by calculating partial similarity data between the feature parameter data of each frame and each reference parameter data and using the N partial similarity data obtained during the word-period.

  • Patent number: 4674736
Abstract: In a document feeding apparatus, a document table carrying documents is provided with a stopper plate. The stopper plate can move between a stop position to retain the documents on the document table and a release position to allow the documents on the document table to move by the force of gravity. A first guide plate to guide the forward edges of the documents is provided on the lower-course side of the document table with respect to the document feeding direction. An obtuse angle is formed between the plane containing the first guide plate and the plane containing the document table. The forward edges of the documents transferred from the document table are guided by the first guide plate so that they are trued up in an oblique manner. On the document feeding side of the guide plate intake rollers are arranged which pick up and deliver, one by one, the documents guided by the guide plate in an orderly manner.

  • Patent number: 4671641
Abstract: A developing apparatus is so set as to face the developed section of the electrostatic latent image-forming plane of the photosensitive drum, and causes a magnetic developing agent to be magnetically conducted to the electrostatic latent image-forming plane. Further, a magnet roll is so provided as to face that portion of the electrostatic latent image-forming plane of the photosensitive drum which has passed the developed region, thereby adsorptively removing the unnecessary particles of the developing agent which are deposited on the electrostatic latent image-forming plane. Therefore, the developing apparatus, though possessed of a relatively simple arrangement, has the advantages of suppressing the occurrence of the aforesaid tailing phenomenon, and enabling a distinct impression to be transcribed on a copy sheet with the reproducibility of fine lines prominently improved.

  • Patent number: 4670791
Abstract: This invention is directed to a method and system which employs a distinguishing document placed between each document set which distinguished the documents for one destination from the documents of another destination. In accordance with this invention, the number of documents within each set are counted by counting the documents fed until the distinguishing document is detected, this number is then compared with the number entered in advance for each destination. When a difference between these numbers occurs, it is then determined that double feeding has occurred and a warning is indicated.
