Abstract: An assaying kit is for pre-transfusion blood group matching between two blood samples. The kit includes at least two assemblies (101,201) corresponding to the first and the second blood sample, each assembly has at least two test units (1). Each test unit (1) includes a reagent containing an antigen present on erythrocytes or an antibody able to bind to an antigen present on erythrocytes. Each test unit (1) also includes a membrane (2) permeable to free erythrocytes (6) and impermeable to hemagglutinated erythrocytes. The antibody contained in the first test unit for both the first assembly (101) and the second assembly (201) corresponds to a first blood group and the antibody contained in the second test units for both the first assembly (101) and the second assembly (201) corresponds to a second blood group.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a kit for detecting a S. pneumoniae nucleic acid in a sample. The method comprises the steps of isolating said nucleic acid and detecting hybridization between the S. pneumoniae nucleic acid and a labeled probe, wherein the detection of hybridization comprises detecting a change in signal from the labeled probe during or after hybridization relative to the labeled probe signal before hybridization. The method of the present invention is characterized in that said nucleic acid is a ribonucleic acid, which isolation comprises the addition of acidic phenol to said sample and the purification of said ribonucleic acid.

Abstract: A method is provided of generating and distributing secret random data. The method requires a plurality of participating parties each to own an identical private-key generation device and to request a random signal over a shared publication communication network. At each iteration of the method, the parties process the public random signal with the internal states of their secret-key generation devices using two functions, the output of the first function being generated secret random data and the output of the second function being a new internal state.

Abstract: A method for detecting a three dimensional object smaller than 300 nm includes providing a light source producing a first light beam (1), the light source being at least partially coherent; and splitting the first light beam (1) into an object beam (2) and a reference beam (6) by a first beam splitter (BS1). An image of the light source is produced in a light source image plane by a first microscope objective (L1), in the optical path of the object beam (2). The three dimensional object to be detected in an object cell (3) is positioned in the optical path of the object beam (2), between the first beam splitter (BS1) and the first microscope objective (L1). The object beam (2) and the reference beam (6) are recombined into a recombined beam (8) by use of optical devices. An optical stop (4) is placed in the light source image plane of the microscope objective (L1) on the optical axis of the microscope objective (L1).
