Abstract: The invention relates to a fundus camera that incorporates an integral imaging system for capturing an integral photograph of the fundus. This integral photograph enables projecting a three-dimensional image and generating topographical maps of the fundus. The fundus camera can function plenoptically and thus zoom onto a two-dimensional image generated from the integral photograph. The proposed equipment consists of an optical system for illuminating the fundus and an optical system forming the integral image capture system. This capture system includes an ophthalmoscopic lens, a microlens array and a sensor, and it allows recording, in a single shot, multiple views of the fundus. To improve the resolution of the integral photograph, the capture system has a device that allows displacing the microlens array by a few microns.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for automatically distinguishing atrial flutter from atrial fibrillation based on a sequence of R-R-intervals of ECG-data. The system of the invention comprises means adapted to calculate or simulate an R-R-pattern from a model which is based on a periodic or almost periodic signal representing peaks of an atrial flutter signal, a first AV block scheme blocking respective ones of the atrial excitations while transmitting the others with a predetermined transmittal delay and at least one more AV-block scheme blocking respective ones of the excitations transmitted by the previous AV-block scheme and transmitting the others with a predetermined transmittal delay. The excitations transmitted by the last AV-block scheme constitute the calculated R-R-pattern.

Abstract: A method for scaling two-dimensional structures, which is especially usable for resizing digital 2D images with a rational scaling factor, is based on efficient implementation of a diamond-shaped filter. The conventional “1”-diamond matrices of variable size are replaced by a (m×n) coefficient matrix. For any given rational scaling factor, the computational load for calculating an output pixel is reduced to filtering (m×n) input pixels with a corresponding (m×n) filter matrix. The coefficients of this filter matrix depend from the phase of the output pixel to be calculated and the factor of interpolation, but are always integer numbers. The coefficients may be stored in lookup tables (LUT), which leads to a very efficient implementation of the inventive method. In one embodiment, a (3×3) coefficient matrix has been found to be advantageous.
