    Abstract: Methods of treating a subject suffering from an ischemic condition and of preventing an ischemia-reperfusion injury in a subject suffering from an ischemic condition, particularly, but not exclusively ischemic heart disease and the subject is in particular a human, includes administering an effective amount of a carbohydrate composition extracted from Panax ginseng to the subject. The carbohydrate composition of the present invention extracted from Panax ginseng shows exceptional cardio-protective effect and, thus, provides a highly advantageous and highly promising treatment option for treatment of ischemic conditions and prevention of ischemia-reperfusion injury. The present invention further provides a method of protecting cells against hypoxia and reoxygenation induced cell death. Still further, the present invention provides a carbohydrate composition extracted from Panax ginseng and a pharmaceutical formulation comprising it.

    Abstract: An expansion polymerization imprinting glue for nano-imprinting. Raw materials required for the preparation of the expansion polymerization imprinting glue comprise a low polymer and an expansion monomer. Compared with the prior art, after the expansion monomer is introduced into the expansion polymerization imprinting glue for nano-imprinting, the expansion monomer can be polymerized with the low polymer, the volume change of the imprinting glue after polymerization can be adjusted, and accordingly the volume shrinkage after the imprinting glue is cured is reduced or even eliminated; and the imprinting glue having zero curing shrinkage or volume expansion can be obtained by adjusting the content of the expansion monomer. The imprinting glue can effectively reduce the residual stress in a micro-nano pattern, and the generation of pattern defects in the nano-imprinting demolding process caused by the residual stress is reduced while accurate pattern copying is implemented.

The method and the clamp device have the advantages of accurate urine control effect, simple manipulation of urination, minimal urethral reconstruction surgery, high success rate, and simple operation. It does not affect the sensation of penis and cavernous erection. It does not affect the appearance of penis, and it is easy for patients to accept the method and the clamp device. A controlled urethral clamp for the treatment of male urinary incontinence is also disclosed.

    Abstract: GER fluids are improved by the addition of a polar molecule additive. By addition of a polar molecule additive, yield stresses under electric field are improved by over 50% while the current density is reduced to less than a quarter of the original GER. The reversible response time still remains the same, and the sedimentation stability is greatly enhanced. The zero field viscosity of the modified GER fluid remains the same as that of the original GER fluid without the additive. The improved GER characteristics improve general functionality as an electrical-mechanical interface, attendant with applications to car clutches, fluid brakes, and vehicle shock absorbers.
