Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining an angular trajectory for dynamically rotating a multileaf collimator during arc therapy. According to various embodiments, a suitable collimator trajectory may be determined based on the reduction or minimization of a residual unblocked area residing between a planning target volume and leaves of the multileaf collimator in the beam's eye view over the set of control points corresponding to an arc therapy plan. Various example methods are provided for determining collimator trajectories based on whitespace reduction, and for providing quantitative measures of whitespace optimization associated with a given trajectory. In some embodiments, the whitespace may be calculated using terms that account for the overlap of a planning target volume with an organ at risk of exposure.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of calculating a Topography Adjusted Vegetation Index (TAVI) based on a band ratio model and a solar altitude angle. The method includes the following steps: obtaining the apparent reflectance data of a remote sensing image through image preprocessing, analyzing the quality of the image and numerical distribution, calculating a Shadow Vegetation Index (SVI), and constructing a TAVI combinational algorithm: TAVI = B ir B r + f ? ( ? ) · 1 B r , calculating an adjustment factor f(?) with the solar altitude angle, and finally obtaining anti-topographic effect TAVI vegetation information. The TAVI in the present invention is composed of two band ratio submodels RVI and SVI, the denominators of both of which are red band data of a remote sensing image, and the adjustment factor f(?), which is calculated by a solar altitude angle as a parameter with a sensor factor applied, has great physical significance.

More particularly, the invention relates to novel compositions (e.g., nanoparticles) and related methods of preparation and use that enable upconverting luminescence with an efficient excitation optimized at about 800 nm. A unique class of cascade sensitized tri-doped UCNPs with a biocompatiable 800 nm excitable property are disclosed herein, for example, tri-doped ?-NaYF4:Nd, Yb, Er (Tm)/NaYF4UCNPs, which employ Nd3+ as 800 nm photon sensitizer and Yb3+ as bridging ions, having strong green or blue upconversion emissions without photobleaching.
Abstract: A smartphone endoscope system includes a smartphone with first and second imaging sensors, and an imaging optics attachment. The imaging optics attachment includes a first and second imaging apparatus, the first imaging apparatus including a first light source, a beam splitter, an objective lens, and a fiber optic imaging bundle, wherein the fiber optic imaging bundle delivers excitation light to a target which emits a fluorescence emission and a reflectance emission both collected by the fiber optic imaging bundle and transmitted to the first imaging sensor. The second imaging apparatus includes a second light source, a DRS source fiber delivering broadband light to the target which produces a diffuse reflectance emission, a DRS detection fiber, a collimator, a slit, and a transmission grating wherein the transmission grating diffracts diffuse reflectance emission and creates diffracted light which is transmitted to a second imaging sensor.
Abstract: Methods of selectively inhibiting Akt3 are provided. It has been discovered that 4-[(6-nitroquinolin-4-yl)amino]-N-[4-(pyridin-4-ylamino)phenyl]benzamide selectively inhibits Akt3.
