Abstract: A new system and method for FWI of common-offset GPR data, particularly targeting the dimensions and infilling material of buried objects. The method is useful in situations where clear isolated diffraction hyperbolas indicate the presence of an underground object, but the object's dimensions and filling may be unknown. The present invention acquires GPR data and applies advanced numerical methods to get the depth and size of the underground object in a very accurate manner. An embodiment of the invention includes five main steps: GPR data processing, ray-based analysis to set a good initial model, 3D to 2D transformation of data, effective SW estimation, and FWI.
Abstract: A new and distinct Corylus plant named ‘PollyO’ is characterized by high nut yield, early nut maturity, small round nuts and kernels, high kernel percentage, good kernel blanching and excellent flavor. The tree is vigorous and has a desirable growth habit. ‘PollyO’ is resistant to bud mite (primarily Phytoptus avellanae Nal.). DNA markers and field exposure indicate that it is highly resistant to eastern filbert blight (EFB) caused by Anisogramma anomala (Peck) E. Müller.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for hardware security to countermeasure side-channel attacks are provided. The method or apparatus may introduce at least one redundant or partial redundant computation having a similar power dissipation profile or an electromagnetic emission profile when compared to that of a genuine operation for cryptographic devices, and/or to reorder the iterations of operations in a different sequence. The redundant or partial redundant computation may be performed by using a different password key and/or a different raw data (e.g., plaintext). The presence of the redundant or partial redundant computation would make side-channel attacks difficult in the sense that genuine or redundant/partial redundant operations are difficult to be clearly identified, hence serving as a countermeasure for hardware security.

Abstract: A polarization and color sensitive pixel device and a focal plane array made therefrom. Each incorporates a thick color/polarization filter stack and microlens array for visible (0.4-0.75 micron), near infrared (0.75-3 micron), mid infrared (3-8 micron) and long wave infrared (8-15 micron) imaging. A thick pixel filter has a thickness of between about one to 10× the operational wavelength, while a thick focal plane array filter is on the order of or larger than the size or up to 10× the pitch of the pixels in the focal plane array. The optical filters can be precisely fabricated on a wafer. A filter array can be mounted directly on top of an image sensor to create a polarization camera. Alternatively, the optical filters can be fabricated directly on the image sensor.

Abstract: A layered metal oxide field effect material forms a heterojunction from metal oxides with different band gaps, and defines a band gap difference (?E)?1 eV. Band bending is generated at the interface of the heterojunction, such that a potential barrier is formed on the side with the larger band gap and a triangular potential well is formed on the side with the smaller band gap, and under the induction of a gate electric field, a polarized charge is generated at the interface of the heterojunction, and a large number of carriers are accumulated. Therefore, the present layered metal oxide field effect material has high carrier mobility higher than 103 cm2/V·s, and overcomes the problem that the carrier mobility of a conventional metal oxide field effect material is low, it is required to fabricate the metal oxide field effect material into a crystal phase structure with a relatively high cost, and even that a substrate thereof with a crystal phase structure is required.
