Abstract: One aspect of the invention provides and artificial, flexible valve indlucding: a stent defining a wall and a plurality of leaflets extending from the wall of the stent. The plurality of leaflets form a plurality of coaptation regions between two adjacent leaflets. The coaptation regions include extensions along a z-axis and adapted and are configured to form a releasable, but substantially complete seal when the leaflets are in a closed position. Another aspect of the invention provides an artificial, flexible valve including: a stent defining a wall and a plurality of leaflets extending from the wall of the stent. Each of the plurality of leaflets terminates in a commissure line. The commissure lines devi-ate from a hyperbola formed in the x-y plane by at least one deviation selected from the group consisting of: a deviation in the z-direction and one or more curves relative to the hyperbola.

Abstract: A hydrogen storage cartridge small and lightweight allows storage and discharge of hydrogen at low pressure and normal temperature. It also can effectively absorb the volume expansion accompanying atomization of a hydrogen storage alloy that occurs due to repeated storage and discharge of hydrogen, and therefore a hydrogen storage cartridge (A) is provided in which deformation due to repeated use, and in particular irregular deformation, extremely unlikely, also it can effectively avoid hydrogen storage irregularities of the hydrogen storage alloy. The hydrogen storage cartridge (A) is used for storage of hydrogen contained in biomass thermal decomposition gas, wherein the material of the hydrogen storage cartridge (A) is pure titanium, and the hydrogen storage cartridge (A) includes in the interior space (1), as a hydrogen storage alloy, at least one hydrogen storage alloy selected from the group comprising lanthanum mischmetal/nickel, titanium/iron, calcium/nickel, and lanthanum/nickel.

Abstract: An augmented reality (AR) authentication method and system provides an AR environment that is presented on a display. The AR environment combines real-world object images captured by a camera with computer generated virtual icons. The virtual icons may be “mapped” to the real-world objects, whereupon the real-world objects take on the characteristics of the mapped images. During an authentication process, a user interacts with the AR environment by a variety of techniques to enter their passcode. Such interaction may include physically moving objects in the real-world so that such movement is reflected in the AR environment; controlling the “mapped” real-world objects through user interaction with the AR environment via an input device; and controlling the virtual icons through user interaction with the AR environment via the input device. Accordingly, if the user interacts with the AR environment in a manner that matches their previously “set” passcode the user is authenticated.

Abstract: In some embodiments, the present disclosure pertains to methods of capturing contaminants (i.e., radionuclides and metals) from a water source by applying an oxidatively modified carbon to the water source. This leads to the sorption of the contaminants in the water source to the oxidatively modified carbon. In some embodiments, the methods also include a step of separating the oxidatively modified carbon from the water source after the applying step. In some embodiments, the oxidatively modified carbon comprises an oxidized carbon source. In some embodiments, the carbon source is coal. In some embodiments, the oxidatively modified carbon comprises oxidized coke. In some embodiments, the oxidatively modified carbon is in the form of free-standing, three dimensional and porous particles. Further embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to materials for capturing contaminants from a water source, where the materials comprise the aforementioned oxidatively modified carbons.

The upper surface is dished while the lower surface is planar and can be parallel or sloped relative to the upper surface, and can have a keel for fixation. The femoral implant for implementation in a femoral condyle is rounded such that, when implemented, the femoral implant is flush at the anterior and posterior sides and protruding away from the femur between the anterior and posterior ends. The femoral implant can have an elongated keel for extending into the femur, and can be made from a highly cross-linked polyethylene.
