    Abstract: Methods and systems for providing a dataset of human in-bed poses include simultaneously gathered images of in-bed poses of humans from imaging modalities including red-green-blue (RGB) and one or more of long wavelength infrared (LWIR), depth imaging, and pressure mapping. The images are obtained under a lighting condition and a cover condition. The dataset can be used to train a model of estimating human in-bed poses and for methods of estimating human in-bed poses. Methods and systems of estimating three-dimensional human poses from two-dimensional input images are provided.

    Abstract: A method for characterizing the interaction force between lignin and cellulase is provided. The method includes the following steps: (1) preparing a lignin solution, then dropwise adding the solution onto a silicon wafer, repeatedly spin-coating with a spin coater, and vacuum-drying the prepared lignin film; (2) modifying an AFM probe coated with a gold film on the surface with HS-PEG-COOH and then activating the carboxyl group, immersing the AFM probe after the carboxyl group activation in a PBS solution of cellulase for incubation, and after the modification is completed, placing the washed AFM probe in a PBS buffer solution for storage for later use; (3) testing the lignin-cellulase interaction force by using an AFM instrument in a liquid phase environment.

A signal indicative of a length of insertion of the elongated body structure into the tissue is used with a signal indicative of (i) force, strain, shape of a sensor associated with the elongated body structure and/or (ii) directionality of magnetic field applied to the premagnetized material, to determine a three-dimensional (3D) trajectory of the steerable assembly. The 3D trajectory is superimposed on a 3D model of the tissue to determine position of the steerable assembly within the tissue.

    Abstract: A spectral imaging device includes an imager, a scanning stage to establish relative motion between the imager and a sample in a scanning direction and an optical system controlling a light characteristic of a light beam constituting an image of the sample to the imager. The optical system includes a light varying element to receive the light beam and provide an output light beam with spatially varying light characteristic over a cross-section thereof. A set of redirecting optical elements direct light rays from the sample to form the light beam, and to focus the output light beam onto the imager. A controller controls the scanning stage and the imager to capture a plurality of image frames with an overlap including a defined shift that is greater than 1 pixel along the scanning direction between consecutive image frames. A computing device consolidates image data to provide an image of the sample.

    Abstract: The present application provides a hydrophilic and hydrophobic composite packing-based rotating packed bed and a system. A hydrophobic packing and a hydrophilic packing are formed into a composite packing. When said packing cuts liquid, the hydrophobic packing can sufficiently disperse the liquid so as to make the dispersion of the liquid in the packing zone more uniform, and the wettability of the hydrophilic packing allows the liquid to spread sufficiently so as to increase the wetting efficiency of said packing. The phenomenon of droplet aggregation caused to liquid in a single hydrophobic packing zone and the phenomenon of reduction of liquid turbulence caused to liquid in a single hydrophilic packing zone can be avoided. Therefore, applying a hydrophilic and hydrophobic composite packing to a rotating packed bed can further improve the mass transfer and mixing performance thereof.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-load wireless power transfer system based on high-order Anti-PT symmetry. By introducing a “W-shaped” anti-resonance mode into a basic WPT platform, an effective Anti-PT non-Hermitian system is conveniently constructed. The “level attraction” of the anti-resonance mode is combined with the “level splitting” of the anti-resonance mode and the resonance mode, to study the “level pinning” effect of high-order Anti-PT symmetry. Compared with the traditional resonant WPT, the anti-resonant WPT has higher security, stability, transfer efficiency, and flexibility. Considering the miniaturization and integration of devices, a “meta coil” is designed by using a “synthetic dimension”, and used to construct a high-order Anti-PT symmetric system, thereby achieving multi-load efficient WPT. The new WPT technology based on the “level pinning” effect of high-order Anti-PT symmetry provides a good application research platform for enriching non-Hermitian physics.
