Patent number: 12285437Abstract: A pre-prodrug, comprising a drug, e.g., doxorubicin, which has off-target toxicity (e.g., cardiotoxicity) with respect to its antineoplastic activity, and an amine functionality of the drug incorporated into a disubstituted maleimide (DMI). The pre-prodrug may be linked to a targeting or de-targeting agent or a polar modulator, e.g., charged ligand, amino acid, peptide, etc., to increase therapeutic index. The pre-prodrug is hydrolyzed to the prodrug, having a disubstituted maleamic acid (DMA). A polar modulator such as glutamic acid prevents cellular uptake of the prodrug, but not the doxorubicin drug released from the prodrug after dissociation. The prodrug is pH sensitive, and below pH 7.0, tends to cleave to form free drug and cyclized maleic anhydride. Tumor environments tend to be more acidic, e.g., pH 6.8, than cardiac tissue, e.g., pH 7.4, and therefore the heart is spared while the drug is selectively released within a tumor.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2020Date of Patent: April 29, 2025Assignee: The Research Foundation for The State University of New YorkInventors: Ming An, Lan Yao, Anqi Zhang

Patent number: 12286539Abstract: This disclosure enables the generation and patterning of color centers with nanometer-scale spatial control in a variety of materials in repeatable fashion and without the use of radiation. Embodiments in accordance with the present disclosure employ a layer of vacancy-injection material disposed on a host-material, where the vacancy-injection material forms a compound with host-material atoms at elevated temperatures. During compound formation, lattice vacancies are generated in the host material and diffuse within the substrate lattice to bond with impurity atoms, thereby forming color centers. High-resolution lithographic patterning of the vacancy-injection film and the short diffusion lengths of the lattice vacancies enables nanometer-level spatial control over the lateral positions of the color centers. Furthermore, the depth of the color centers in the substrate can be controlled by controlling the coating material, thickness, anneal time, and anneal temperature.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2019Date of Patent: April 29, 2025Assignee: The Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior UniversityInventors: Nicholas Alexander Melosh, Matthew A. Patent number: 12285246Abstract: Methods and systems for sensing a physiological characteristic of a subject. At least one receiver antenna can be provided in proximity to a portion of the subject's body to obtain at least one receiver signal resulting from at least one transmitter signal that has propagated to the receiver antenna and has been reflected, diffracted, scattered, or transmitted by or through the portion of the subject's body. One or more coherent signal pairs can be formed. Then, amplitude and phase information of a plurality of frequency components for each signal pair can be determined. A set of comparison values can be determined for each signal pair by comparing respective frequency component phases and respective frequency component amplitudes of the signals. Physiological characteristics of the subject can then be determined from these comparison values.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2023Date of Patent: April 29, 2025Assignee: University of Notre Dame du LacInventors: Thomas G. Patent number: 12288997Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-load wireless power transfer system based on high-order Anti-PT symmetry. By introducing a “W-shaped” anti-resonance mode into a basic WPT platform, an effective Anti-PT non-Hermitian system is conveniently constructed. The “level attraction” of the anti-resonance mode is combined with the “level splitting” of the anti-resonance mode and the resonance mode, to study the “level pinning” effect of high-order Anti-PT symmetry. Compared with the traditional resonant WPT, the anti-resonant WPT has higher security, stability, transfer efficiency, and flexibility. Considering the miniaturization and integration of devices, a “meta coil” is designed by using a “synthetic dimension”, and used to construct a high-order Anti-PT symmetric system, thereby achieving multi-load efficient WPT. The new WPT technology based on the “level pinning” effect of high-order Anti-PT symmetry provides a good application research platform for enriching non-Hermitian physics.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2023Date of Patent: April 29, 2025Assignee: Tongji UniversityInventors: Zhiwei Guo, Yunhui Li, Kejia Zhu, Jun Jiang, Yong Sun, Haitao Jiang, Hong Chen

Patent number: 12285750Abstract: The present application provides a hydrophilic and hydrophobic composite packing-based rotating packed bed and a system. A hydrophobic packing and a hydrophilic packing are formed into a composite packing. When said packing cuts liquid, the hydrophobic packing can sufficiently disperse the liquid so as to make the dispersion of the liquid in the packing zone more uniform, and the wettability of the hydrophilic packing allows the liquid to spread sufficiently so as to increase the wetting efficiency of said packing. The phenomenon of droplet aggregation caused to liquid in a single hydrophobic packing zone and the phenomenon of reduction of liquid turbulence caused to liquid in a single hydrophilic packing zone can be avoided. Therefore, applying a hydrophilic and hydrophobic composite packing to a rotating packed bed can further improve the mass transfer and mixing performance thereof.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2020Date of Patent: April 29, 2025Assignee: BEIJING UNIVERSITY OF CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGYInventors: Yong Luo, Yanzhen Lu, Yong Cai, Guangwen Chu, Wei Liu, Haikui Zou, Baochang Sun, Jianfeng Chen
