  • Patent number: 10264641
Abstract: A lighting system includes various ballasts or LED drivers having respective dimming interface circuits coupled in parallel to an external dimming device. Each device includes a controller regulating output to a lighting load based on desired dimming output. Dimming interface circuits coupled are between the controller and the external dimming device, each configured to dynamically adapt a level of constant current sourced from the dimming interface circuit to the external dimming device via first and second interface terminals, based on a determined analog mode or digital mode associated with the external device. The dimming interface circuit generates dimming control signals to the controller based on dimming input signals received via the first and second interface terminals, and in a digital mode, the interface circuit generates digital pulse signals to the external dimming device via the interface terminals for bidirectional communications therewith.

  • Patent number: 10258986
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for producing a drop of a viscoelastic fluid. A separation volume of viscoelastic fluid that is to form a drop from a larger remnant volume of viscoelastic fluid is moved from through an interface and into a cross-channel. Movement subjects the viscoelastic fluid to shear that may cause a reduction in viscosity. Movement of the viscoelastic fluid is then reduced or stopped (i.e., the rate at which shear is applied is reduced), such that the viscosity of the viscoelastic fluid may increase as the viscoelastic fluid experiences relaxation. The separation volume of viscoelastic fluid is then moved down the cross-channel in a first direction by the flow of an immiscible fluid, which separates the separation volume from a remnant volume. The separation volume may then be dispensed from the cross-channel as a drop.

  • Patent number: 10260089
Abstract: Peptide nucleic acids containing thymidine and 2-aminopyridine (M) nucleobases formed stable and sequence selective triple helices with double stranded RNA at physiologically relevant conditions. The M-modified PNA displayed unique RNA selectivity by having two orders of magnitude higher affinity for the double stranded RNAs than for the same DNA sequences. Preliminary results suggested that nucleobase-modified PNA could bind and recognize double helical precursors of microRNAs.
