Abstract: Disclosed a measurement system for measuring chip-scale polarizing plates, which projects incident lights respectively having a first polarization direction and a second polarization direction to a plurality of chip-scale polarizing plates on a tested wafer, and uses the intensities of the penetrating lights passing through the chip-scale polarizing plates to calculate the transmittances and extinction ratios of the chip-scale polarizing plates so as to determine whether one or more of the chip-scale polarizing plates are unqualified products, wherein the first polarization direction is perpendicular to the second polarization direction; the first polarization direction is perpendicular or parallel to the polarization direction of the chip-scale polarizing plates. The measurement system and measurement method of the present invention can simultaneously measure a plurality of chip-scale polarizing plates and thus can increase the productivity of chip-scale polarizing plates.

Abstract: Edited cell chimerism is currently one of the greatest bottlenecks to clinical efficacy of gene therapies for the hemoglobinopathies. For example, it is difficult to go from low hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) edited cell chimerism in the bone marrow to high edited red blood cell (RBC) chimerism in the bloodstream. The present disclosure provides methods and compositions for genetically modifying hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs), in particular by creating HSPCs that express truncated forms of the EPO.receptor (tEPOR).

  • Publication number: 20240412281
Abstract: A computer-based bidding system, computer readable medium and method is provided for bidding on a project or service. A first client creates a project specification. Second clients bid on the project. A second client encrypts bid information immediately after creating a bid information file, calculates a first hash value for the bid information file, and submits the first hash value for linking as a block in a blockchain. A blockchain system performs a second encryption upon receiving the encrypted bid information, calculates a second hash value for the encrypted bid file, and submits the second hash value for linking as a block in the blockchain. The second client performs a third encryption when the bid information file is opened to generate an encrypted opened bid information file. The second client performs a bidding process with the first client using the bid information file.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a thermomechanical actuator and a cleaning system implementing the thermomechanical actuator. The thermomechanical actuator includes a solar heat collector (SHC) housing shape memory alloy springs connected between a piston movably disposed therein and one end of the SHC. A cable extending from the piston through an opposite end of the SHC is connected to a bias load that develops returning force on the springs. In presence of solar radiation, the springs contract and cause linear movement of the piston in a direction of contraction and, in absence of the solar radiation, the springs expand and cause linear movement of the piston in direction of expansion. Useful power and work is extracted in form of the cleaning system from such linear movement of the piston.
