Abstract: The present invention discloses a core-shell structure supported tungsten composite catalyst and a preparation method and use thereof. Most of the existing synthesis methods of the main ring of quinolone drugs have the defects of many synthesis steps, cumbersome operation, large amount of three wastes, higher costs and the like. The present invention prepares a magnetic separable core-shell supported tungsten composite catalyst, WO3/SiO2/Fe3O4, by preparing Fe3O4 colloid and SiO2/Fe3O4 composite nano-particles. This magnetic separable core-shell supported tungsten composite catalyst, WO3/SiO2/Fe3O4, is used to catalyze and synthesize quinolone compounds. The present invention provides an efficient preparation method of quinolone compounds using a catalyst which can be recovered by magnetic separation and recycled.

Abstract: Systems and methods for using positions of detected, real object boundaries to enable user interaction with a virtual object are disclosed. A system can include one or more sensors or trackers configured to detect boundaries of a transparent, real object within a three-dimensional coordinate system. A computing device configured to track positions of the detected boundaries of the real object within the three-dimensional coordinate system. The computing device may also track a position of a virtual object within the three-dimensional coordinate system. The computing device may determine whether the position of the virtual object is within the positions of the detected boundaries of the real object. The computing device may also enable user interaction with the virtual object via user interface and receive input for interacting with the virtual object in response to determining that the position of the virtual object is within the positions of the detected boundaries.

Abstract: A method of exchanging fluids with suspended particles includes providing a microfluidic device with a first inlet channel operatively coupled to a source of particles and a second inlet channel operatively coupled to an exchange fluid. A transfer channel is connected at a proximal end to the first inlet channel and the second inlet channel. First and second outlet channels are connected to a distal end of the transfer channel. The source of particles is flowed at a first flow rate into the first inlet channel while the exchange fluid is flowed at a second flow rate into the second inlet channel wherein the ratio of the second flow rate to the first flow rate is at least 1.5. Particles are collected in one of the first and second outlet channels while fluid substantially free of particles is collected in the other of the first and second outlet channels.

Abstract: A system of topographic patterns for the prevention of bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation. The patterns may be provided on the surfaces of certain devices that are prone to bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation, such as urinary catheters. To reduce bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation, and to remove existing biofilms, the patterns are induced to transform from a first topography to a second topography. For example, the surface patterns may be formed from a shape memory polymer and then heated to transform the patterns from the first topography to the second topography to dislodge bacteria and prevent fouling.

Abstract: A method for accurately producing the drilled hole in a wall of a component fabricated by investment casting process, such as for use in a blade or steam turbine includes the following steps. The 3D data of actual component is obtained from the measurements or from the numerical simulation. The actual model and the ideal model are aligned and compared, a series of cutting planes are given to establish a series of 2D cross-sections of the actual and ideal models after registration. Each cross-section is dispersed into discrete points, the distance between each corresponding points are calculated and formed into 2D displacement. The accurate parametric model consisting of the depth, hole center, and the nominal vector is obtained on the basis of considering the deviations in geometrical and positional values. The drilled hole is then produced according to the corrected parametric drilled-hole geometrical and positional value.
