Abstract: A system using a three-coil topology for wireless power transfer is disclosed. The system comprises a primary resonator coupled to a power source, a repeater resonator and a receiver resonator. The primary resonator has a primary coil, and the repeater resonator has a repeater coil adjacent to the primary coil. The repeater coil and the primary coil are separated by a distance selected, and the repeater coil is configured, to amplify a primary-coil current by inductively generating a repeater-coil current that is substantially greater than the primary-coil current. A magnetic field contributed from both the primary-coil current and the repeater-coil current is generated while the power source needs not provide a terminal voltage across the repeater coil, thereby discouraging occurrence of voltage stress at the power source. The receiver resonator has a receiver coil, which receives the magnetic field to inductively generate a receiver-coil current for feeding to a load.

Abstract: A method of preparing nanostructured single crystal silver, comprising placing a high-conductive molded porous active carbon containing chloride ions, which has been reductively treated, into a silver-containing precursor solution. After several hours at room temperature, the nanostructured single crystal silver grows on the surface of the active carbon. The silver-containing precursors and appropriate amount of chlorine provide a crystal nucleus and a slow stable crystal growth environment which are required for single crystal silver growth, and said nanostructured silver single crystals could be obtained with various morphologies by controlling the concentration of the silver-containing precursor solution and the growth time.

Abstract: A motion vector estimation method in video encoding: First, a feature point is detected in a video frame. Next, motion estimation is performed on the feature point to obtain a motion vector of the feature point. Next, the feature point is mapped to a feature image block, and the motion vector of the feature point is used as an initial motion vector of the feature image block. Finally, a distance between each image block and the feature image block is calculated, motion estimation is performed on the image blocks in an ascending order of the distances between the image blocks and the feature image block, and an obtained motion vector of an image block is used as an initial motion vector of an image block that is adjacent to the image block and has not undergone motion estimation, until motion estimation is completed for the image blocks in the entire video frame.

Abstract: Novel methods and devices including modified endoscopes that employ fiber optic technology and multiple extrinsic optical sensors for enablement of simultaneous determination of change rates of biological analytes in vivo with single-cell resolution. The devices employ dynamic oscillatory actuation to determine the gradient of analytes of interest along one or multiple directions with respect to the cell. The change rate or flux of the analyte of interest can be easily determined by applying the first Fick's law that relates the flux with the concentration gradient. The dual operation mode of the device markedly increases measurement sensitivity and accuracy.

Specifically disclosed is a method for generating reference signals for polymer analysis in a nanopore system, wherein the nanopore system has a multi-subunit output signal resolution. The method comprises translocating a reference sequence through a nanopore to generate a plurality of reference output signals, wherein each possible multi-subunit sequence that can determine an output signal appears only once in the reference sequence. The output signals are compiled into a reference map for nanopore analysis of an analyte polymer. Also provided are methods and compositions for calibrating the nanopore system for optimized polymer analysis.
