Abstract: Methods, computer-accessible medium, and systems for generating a genome wide probe map and/or a genome wide haplotype sequence are provided. In particular, a genome wide probe map can be generated by obtaining a plurality of detectable oligonucleotide probes hybridized to at least one double stranded nucleic acid molecule cleaved with at least one restriction enzyme, and detecting the location of the detectable oligonucleotide probes. For example, genome wide haplotype sequence can be generated by analyzing at least one genome wide restriction map in conjunction with at least one genome wide probe map to determine distances between restriction sites of the genome wide restriction map(s) and locations of detectable oligonucleotide probes of the genome wide probe map(s) and defining a consensus map indicating restriction sites based on the genome wide restriction map(s) and/or locations of detectable oligonucleotide probes based on each of the genome wide probe map(s).

Abstract: Boronic esters and boronic acids are synthesized at ambient temperature in an ethereal solvent by the reaction of Grignard reagents with a boron-containing substrate. The boron-containing substrate may be a boronic ester such as pinacolborane, neopentylglycolborane, or a dialkylaminoborane compound such as diisopropylaminoborane. The Grignard reagents may be pre-formed or generated from an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, arylalkyl, heteroaryl, vinyl, or allyl halide compound and Mg0. When the boron-containing substrate is a boronic ester, the reactions generally proceed at room temperature without added base in about 1 to 3 hours to form a boronic ester compound. When the boron-containing substrate is a dialkylaminoborane compound, the reactions generally proceed to completion at 0° C. in about 1 hour to form a boronic acid compound.

Abstract: The concurrent administration of chemotherapy and immunotherapy has been considered a contraindication because of the concern that the induced lymphopenia would ablate therapeutic efficacy of immunotherapy. Temozolomide has been shown to be an effective chemotherapeutic for patients with malignant gliomas and to deprive patients with glioblastoma (GBM) patients of this agent in order to treat with immunotherapy is controversial. Despite conventional dogma, we demonstrate that both chemotherapy and immunotherapy can be delivered concurrently without negating the effects of immunotherapy. In fact, the temozolomide induced lymphopenia may actually be synergistic with a peptide vaccine.

Abstract: A connector apparatus has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion mounts to an upright that has knobby hand grip protrusions. The second portion provides a connection for a laterally extending cross-member. The first portion interacts with the knobby hand grip protrusions to have a combination of a first degree of freedom permitting motion in one direction, while inhibiting motion in a second degree of freedom. The second portion has a releasable connection to the cross-member, and when engaged, has a degree of freedom of motion about an axis of the second portion cross-wise to the axis of the upright. The second portion has a releasable, retained, pin connector with a quarter-turn lock to prevent accidental disengagement. The connection of the second portion is offset such that when two connectors are seated back-to-back their cross-tie connections stand in substantially the same horizontal plane relative to the ground.

Abstract: Isolated cells are described that are not embryonic stem cells, not embryonic germ cells, and not germ cells. The cells can differentiate into at least one cell type of each of at least two of the endodermal, ectodermal, and mesodermal lineages. The cells do not provoke a harmful immune response. The cells can modulate immune responses. As an example, the cells can suppress an immune response in a host engendered by allogeneic cells, tissues, and organs. Methods are described for using the cells, by themselves or adjunctively, to treat subjects. For instance, the cells can be used adjunctively for immunosuppression in transplant therapy. Methods for obtaining the cells and compositions for using them also are described.
