Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to routing stability in a hybrid software-defined networking (“SDN”) network in which control plane functionality is shared between a centralized SDN controller and a plurality of local routers. The controller can collect data plane messages from the plurality of local routers, extract information corresponding to source nodes and edges of a graph representative of the hybrid SDN network, and store the information as entries in a table. The controller can identify any outdated entries and remove any outdated entries from the table. The controller can obtain recovered information missing from the information collected from the data plane messages. The controller also can calculate an effective capacity of the edges. The controller can then generate a stable routing pattern based upon the recovered information and the effective capacity. The controller can deploy the stable routing pattern in the hybrid SDN network.

Abstract: A quantum cryptographic key output apparatus includes a semiconductor laser device that repeatedly generates pulsed laser light, an encoder that encodes the pulsed laser light based on a quantum cryptographic key, an optical branching unit that branches the pulsed laser light, and an attenuator that attenuates a light intensity of first pulsed laser light so that the number of photons of the first pulsed laser light has any one of a plurality of candidate values that are values equal to or smaller than 1. Further, the output apparatus includes a light intensity determination unit that determines whether or not a light intensity of a second pulsed laser light is in a predetermined range, and an information output unit that outputs specifying information for specifying the first pulsed laser light corresponding to second pulsed laser light of which the light intensity is not in the predetermined range to an input apparatus.

Abstract: An omni-directional rotational drive mechanism and a moving body in which production and maintenance can be facilitated, while the size can be reduced, by making the number of components smaller. A rotating body provided for a wheel member rotatable about a ring-shaped shaft having a rotating shaft of the wheel member as its center. The rotating body is configured to rotate integrally with the wheel member about the rotating shaft. A pair of worms rotatable about the same shaft as the rotating shaft of the wheel member. A pair of worm wheels are provided for the wheel member so as to be rotatable by meshing with different worms, and capable of transmitting each of rotations to the rotating body. The rotating body is configured so as to rotate or stop with respect to the wheel member in accordance with the rotational direction and the rotational speed of the respective worms.
Abstract: Provided herein are recombinant polypeptides and formulations thereof that can modulate binding of an ApoE protein to an ApoE receptor and/or APP. Also provided herein are methods of administering the recombinant polypeptides and formulations thereof to a subject in need thereof. The subject in need thereof can have or be suspected of having a neurological disease or disorder.
Abstract: The present invention relates to: a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating LDL cholesterol-related diseases, containing a ribosome-binding preparation; a food composition; and a method for preventing or treating LDL cholesterol-related diseases by using the composition. According to the present invention, the ribosome-binding preparation selectively increases the expression of an LDL receptor in intestinal epithelial cells so as to promote LDL absorption in blood and tissue, such that LDL level in the blood can be reduced, thereby being useful for preventing or treating various LDL cholesterol-related diseases including LDL hypercholesterolemia, hyperlipidemia, hypertension and apoplexy.

Abstract: A transapical removal device that can be deployed in a catheter procedure to capture for removal or alteration a mitral valve clip or heart tissue, such as the anterior leaflet of the mitral valve, and methods of use are disclosed. The removal device includes a delivery catheter configured to be deployed near a mitral valve using a guide catheter. The delivery catheter has a snare head at the distal end, which assumes a collapsed state during movement of the delivery catheter through the guide catheter and deployed state for capturing a mitral valve clip or anterior leaflet. The snare head has one or more ablation delivery catheters configured to ablate tissue surrounding the pre-positioned mitral valve clip or anterior leaflet. In some arrangements within the scope of the present disclosure, the removal device includes a deployment mechanism for deploying a new transcatheter valve into the mitral valve.

Abstract: A method for determining the epigenetic age acceleration of an individual comprising measuring a methylation level of a set of methylation markers in genomic DNA of an individual. An epigenetic age of the individual is determined based on the measured methylation level. An epigenetic age of the individual is further determined based on a methylation derived weighted average cell count of naive cytotoxic T cells and exhausted cytotoxic T cells in the individual. The determined epigenetic age is then compared to a chronological age of the individual to determine an epigenetic age acceleration of the individual. Instances wherein the epigenetic age is greater than the chronological age of the individual is an indication of an increased risk of all-cause mortality.
