Publication number: 20250093258Abstract: Systems, methods, and techniques are described herein for characterizing well treatment fluids and well treatment fluid performance. For example, well treatment fluids can be characterized using microfluidic chips to determine fluid properties, with very small amounts of fluid used for the characterization process. Optical analysis and electrical conductivity analysis of well treatment fluids as they pass through different microfluidic pathways with different cross-sectional dimensions can be used to gain information about the well treatment fluid's composition, structure, and performance. In some cases, microfluidic pathways can be functionalized as a model for a wellbore and a reservoir (e.g., rock in the reservoir) to evaluate the performance of well treatment fluids by imaging the well treatment fluid as it flows into or through the functionalized model. These systems, methods, and techniques can allow for optimization of well treatment fluids prior to or during drilling or completion operations.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 18, 2022Publication date: March 20, 2025Applicant: Board of Regents, The University of Texas SystemInventors: Carlos Torres-Verdín, Ayaz Mehmani, Colin Schroeder

Publication number: 20250092373Abstract: Natural killer (NK) cells are innate lymphocytes that possess traits of adaptive immunity, such as memory formation. However, the molecular mechanisms by which NK cells persist to form memory cells are not well understood. Using single cell RNA sequencing, we identified two distinct effector NK cell (NKeff) populations following mouse cytomegalovirus (MCMV) infection. Ly6C? memory precursor (MP) NK cells displayed enhanced survival during the contraction phase in a Bcl2-dependent manner, and differentiated into Ly6C+ memory NK cells. Our studies show that a NK cell-intrinsic checkpoint is controlled by the transcription factor Fli1 which limits MP NK formation by regulating early effector NK cell fitness during viral infection. Building upon this discovery, we have designed methods and materials for modulating the molecular mechanisms that regulate memory cell fate in NK cells, such as genetically modified NK cells having a deletion in the gene for the transcription factor Fli1.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2023Publication date: March 20, 2025Applicant: The Regents of the University of CaliforniaInventors: Timothy E. Publication number: 20250090106Abstract: Methods are disclosed for generating a target mean arterial pressure (MAP) for a patient during a surgery. In some implementations, the disclosed methods include calculating the target MAP based on the age, biological sex, emergent surgery status, and American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) physical status (PS) class of the patient, and a predetermined intraoperative hypotension (IOH) risk benchmark. Treating the patient to maintain a MAP at or above the target MAP during the surgery reduces a risk of IOH during the surgery, a risk of administering an unnecessary therapy to avoid IOH during the surgery; and a risk of not administering a therapeutic MAP-decreasing action during the surgery. In some implementations, the method further comprises conducting the surgery on the patient and treating the patient to maintain the MAP of the patient at or above the target MAP during the surgery. Also provided are systems for implementing the disclosed methods.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 1, 2022Publication date: March 20, 2025Applicant: University of Pittsburgh - Of the Commonwealth System of Higher EducationInventors: Michael Schnetz, Aman Mahajan, David Danks

Publication number: 20250098396Abstract: The invention relates to a perovskite solar cell modified by a chelating layer and its preparation method, within the field of perovskite material preparation. The process involves spin-coating N, N?-bis(4-pyridyl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylic diimide (DPNDI) solution on the perovskite surface, followed by annealing. This modification forms a chelating structure on the surface, passivating defect sites and grain boundaries, promoting charge transfer with optimized energy levels and carrier mobility. The Pb (II) coordination polymer layer enhances bonding strength and adhesion, effectively suppressing traps. The treated perovskite solar cell achieves a photoelectric conversion efficiency (PCE) of 24.2%, with a T80 lifetime retaining over 95% (40° C.) and 85% (85° C.) of the initial PCE after 2000 hours. This modified film inhibits ion migration, providing enhanced stability and high photoelectric conversion efficiency in optoelectronic devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 10, 2024Publication date: March 20, 2025Applicant: Nanjing University of Aeronautics and AstronauticsInventors: Xiaoming ZHAO, Wanlin GUO, Bingkun TIAN, Zhuhua ZHANG

Publication number: 20250091452Abstract: A glass fiber-based structural composite offers an alternative or supplement to carbon fibers in areas such as battery storage. Through electroless deposition of conductive materials like copper and nickel, the glass fiber surface is made conducting and functions as a good current collector. By using anode and cathode materials like manganese (II, III) oxide and Zinc, cathode and anode mats on the copper- and nickel-coated glass fibers are created via hydrothermal and electro-deposition methods. In one example application, the anode and cathode mats are in an alternate square patterned arrangement using copper and nickel-coated glass fiber as a current collector. The device, with a capacity of >300 mAh/g at 0.1 A/g is assembled using an alternate system of epoxy and electrolyte. Uncoated pristine glass fiber ladened and patterned with electrolyte are used as a separator.
