Abstract: A method may include receiving a call from a caller and determining whether the caller has previously called a call center. The method may also include identifying, in response to determining that the caller has previously called the call center, an agent that handled the previous call from the caller, and forwarding the call to the agent that handled the previous call.

Abstract: A method is provided for warning mobile users of traffic conditions. One or more sensor messages are monitored from a plurality of mobile devices transported by a plurality of vehicles. A traffic condition is determined based on the one or more sensor messages. Location of the traffic condition is also determined based on position information of one or more of the plurality of mobile devices. The mobile devices that are within a predetermined proximity to the location of the traffic condition are selected. An alert message is generated in response to the traffic condition. The selected mobile devices are notified with the alert message.

Abstract: A device receives login information and a content stream request from a user device connected to a wireless access network, and authenticates, via a backend server device, the user device based on the login information. The device also provides, when the user device is authenticated, a content link and a license key to the user device, and the user device provides the content link and the license key to a content delivery device. The device further verifies the license key for the content delivery device, and the content delivery device establishes a secure connection with the user device via the wireless access network, retrieves the requested content stream based on the content link, and provides the content stream to the user device via the secure connection.

Abstract: A network device receives, from a switching node, a forwarded call directed to a particular mobile terminal and holds the forwarded call. The network device generates an alert message including context information for the forwarded call and sends, to the mobile terminal, the alert message. Information from the alert message is presented to a user of the mobile terminal in advance of receiving the call. After sending the alert message, the network device routes the forwarded call to the mobile terminal.

Abstract: Data is received that describes a polyline having a first endpoint, a second endpoint, and a plurality of intermediate vertices, each of the intermediate vertices lying between the first endpoint and the second endpoint. An estimation line segment is drawn between the first endpoint and the second endpoint. An intermediate vertex is identifies as a pivot vertex from the plurality of intermediate vertices that is a greatest distance from the estimation line segment. A flatness ratio is calculated by dividing a distance of the pivot vertex from the estimation line segment by a length of the estimation line segment In a computer, the flatness ratio is compared to a predetermined threshold value. If the flatness ratio does not exceed the predetermined threshold value, the intermediate vertices are discarded, thereby modifying the polyline.

Abstract: An outdoor broadband unit implements full IP-based routing between a wide area network (WAN)-side interface (such as a Long-Term Evolution (LTE) air interface) and a local area network (LAN)-side interface (such as a home network using MoCA protocol). The outdoor broadband unit maintains a routing table for all connections through an internal routing system based on matching between WAN-side Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and/or ports and LAN-side IP addresses and/or ports. The outdoor broadband unit may support both connection-oriented transport layer routing (such as Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)) and connectionless transport layer routing (such as User Datagram Protocol (UDP)).

Abstract: An approach for resizing a network tunnel based on criteria associated with incoming traffic to the network is described. A tunnel management platform determines a frequency or a relevancy of network traffic matching predetermined class of service criteria. The tunnel management platform also calculates, based on the frequency or relevancy, a minimal amount of bandwidth to reserve for tunneling subsequent network traffic associated with the predetermined class of service criteria over a network of the service provider. A resizing of the network tunnel is then initiated based on the calculation in association with subsequent network traffic.

Abstract: A network management system may detect a network condition corresponding to a network and evaluate the network condition to identify types of network performance information corresponding to the network condition. The network management system may prioritize the types of network performance information and communicate priority information to a network device. The priority information may include the types of network performance information identified by the network management system and/or the priority associated with each type of network performance information. The network device may receive the priority information, evaluate the availability of device resources, collect network performance information based on the priority information and the availability of device resources, and communicate the network performance information to the network management system.

Abstract: An exemplary method includes a remote support management system 1) receiving a television support request from a user of a television, 2) generating, in response to the television support request, a ticket identifier associated with the television support request, and 3) facilitating, in accordance with the ticket identifier, remote control of the television by a support technician by way of a computing device associated with the support technician. Abstract: The re-transmission of transmission units (TUs) received in a communication device over a communication link is controlled to improve the information carrying capacity of the link. A received TU has an associated service characteristic indicative of a quality of service (QOS) for the TU. The service characteristic is associated with a select set of key performance indicators (KPIs), such as measures of packet error, packet delay, packet delay variation, and/or packet loss experienced by TUs on the communication link. Upon receipt of a TU, the performance of the communication link is evaluated with respect to each KPI in the select set to obtain a corresponding measurement value, and the measurement values are compared to corresponding threshold values. Upon determining that a determined performance value does not satisfy a corresponding threshold value for a KPI in the select set, re-transmission of the TU is requested.

Abstract: An automated incident management device may receive a message from a customer site, the message indicative of a customer issue with a managed service provided to the customer site by way of a primary network connection. The device may connect to an item of customer equipment by way of a secondary network connection to the customer site; retrieve information from the customer equipment by way of the secondary network connection; attempt a corrective measure with the managed service based on the retrieved information, the corrective measure being determined according to rules that specify corrective measures likely to resolve the trouble ticket; and update a trouble ticket associated with the customer site responsive to the attempted corrective measure. In some examples, the automated incident management device may determine that the customer issue is responsibly of the customer to address.

A network device may receive state information relating to processing of traffic at a radio interface in a cellular network and receive packets transmitted by user equipment (UE). Based on the state information, the network device may modify a TCP window field of the received packets based on the state information. The network device may forward the modified version of the packets towards a destination indicated by a destination address field of the packets.

Abstract: A device may obtain information associated with a traffic light. The traffic light may control a flow of traffic associated with a first location. The device may obtain travel information associated with a mobile device and determine, based on the travel information, that the mobile device is located at a second location, that is different from the first location, and is traveling toward the first location. The device may determine a projected status of the traffic light based on the information associated with the traffic light and the travel information. The projected status of the traffic light indicating a status of the traffic light at a time the mobile device is projected to arrive at the first location. The device may transmit information identifying the projected status to the mobile device.

Abstract: An exemplary method includes an unintended-dialing detection and prevention system 1) determining, based on an unintended-dialing detection heuristic, a phone dialing pattern associated with a phone dialing event of a phone device, 2) determining, based on the unintended-dialing detection heuristic, that the phone dialing pattern associated with the phone dialing event matches a predefined phone dialing pattern indicative of unintended dialing, and 3) automatically performing, in response to the determining that the phone dialing pattern associated with the phone dialing event matches the predefined phone dialing pattern indicative of the unintended dialing, an operation configured to prevent a placement of a phone call by the phone device in response to the phone dialing event. The active device submits an update of the virtual workspace of the active device. Then an update of the virtual workspaces of the other devices is initiated that includes the workspace of the active device. A request from one of the other devices to become active is granted and the previously active device is undesignated as active.

Abstract: A system and method may include receiving an invite message associated with a calling device over a data network, the invite message requesting establishment of a voice over data communication session, and presenting a plurality of call rejection options, each of the plurality of call rejection options being associated with separate call rejection messages. The system and method may further include determining which one of the plurality of call rejection options is selected, where the plurality of call rejection options permit a called party to intelligently reject a voice over data communication session.

Abstract: A data management system includes a record database, an account database, a scenario database, and a computing device. The computing device includes a data management tool that is configured to identify scenarios based on information stored in the record database and store the identified scenarios in the scenario database. Further, the data management tool may associate identified scenarios with customer records stored in the account database. Upon receipt of a scenario selected by a user, the data management tool may automatically generate a query that identifies at least one customer record associated with the selected scenario, execute the query, and create a sample billing record for each customer record identified.

Abstract: An approach is provided for auto-completion functions. Textual input is received from a user via an application, a profile metadata is retrieved based on the textual input, a script is generated based on the profile metadata, and the script is transmitted to the application, wherein the script provides auto-completion of information corresponding to the textual input using the profile metadata.
