Abstract: Techniques for providing a method and system for trunk independent gateway transfer of calls are disclosed. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the techniques may be realized as a computer implemented method, comprising receiving a call transfer request for a call at a gateway and determining, using a processor of the gateway, whether a trunk to be used for transferring the call requires a transfer command. In the event the trunk requires transfer command, the techniques comprise generating a transfer command, and transferring the call using the transfer command.

Abstract: A network device provides an agent application to a user device. The network device receives, from the user device, device information that relates to performance of one or more applications residing on the user device. The network device provides, to a device associated with a registered developer account, a portion of the device information that is associated with a particular application. The network device receives, from the device associated with the registered developer account, optimized device configuration settings for the particular application on the user device. The network device stores the optimized configuration settings for the particular application and sends, to the user device, the optimized configuration settings for the particular application.

Abstract: A wireless application server may receive, from a wireless device, information identifying an application residing on a network device in a home network. The wireless application server may further cause a connection to be established to the application and transfer traffic between the application and the wireless device.

Abstract: A system and method for establishing and/or maintaining disparate connection paths from an originating mobile user device to a base station via a mobile peer-to-peer (PTP) network including an originating mobile user device configured to broadcast at least one of a path establishment request signal and a confirmation request signal to an intermediate mobile user device; a mobile peer-to-peer network including the intermediate mobile user device configured to forwarding at least one of the path establishment request signal, the path establishment response signal, the path confirmation request signal, and a path confirmation response signal, via a disparate connection path; and a base station configured to broadcasting at least one of the path establishment response signal and the path confirmation response signal to the originating mobile user device via one or more disparate connection paths within the mobile peer-to-peer network.

Abstract: A system for proactively troubleshooting set top box issues may include a media distribution network with a remote requesting device and a programming guide server. The programming guide server may be configured to identify a guide data retrieval profile of the requesting device, compare the guide data retrieval profile to an expected profile, and flag the requesting device for troubleshooting based on a lack of correspondence between the retrieval profile and the expected profile. Additionally methods for discovering related devices, predicting that the related devices also require troubleshooting, and limiting restorative measures to only those devices that have been confirmed to be affected by a service issue may also be implemented by the system.

Abstract: A computer device may include logic configured to receive a selection of a circuit, obtain information relating to the selected circuit, and provide a list of network elements associated with the selected circuit based on the obtained information relating to the selected circuit. The logic may further be configured to receive a selection of a network element type or network element identifier associated with the provided list of network elements, identify a list of commands based on the selection of a network element type or network element identifier, perform a command auto-completion based on the identified list of commands, and send a completed command to be executed on a network element identified by the completed command.

Abstract: An exemplary system includes a media content processing subsystem configured to provide a first interactive graphical user interface to a display for presentation to a user in response to a transmission of an input command, provide an end interactive graphical user interface to the display for presentation to the user in response to a repeat transmission of the input command, and perform an action corresponding to a selected entry within the end interactive graphical user interface in response to another repeat transmission of the input command. The first interactive graphical user interface corresponds to a first content level within a navigation thread and the end interactive graphical user interface corresponds to an end content level within the navigation thread.

Abstract: A system and method for extending recording time over an allocated time slot for a A/V recording device including receiving, at a programming content server, a request for one or more programs and transmitting, via the programming content server, the request for one or more programs to at least one of a linear content system and a digital content system. Also, the system and method may include receiving, at the programming content server, the one or more requested programs from at least one of the linear content system and the digital content system; and transmitting, via the programming content server, one or more programming content identification messages to a set-top box in the event that the one or more requested programs extend over an allocated time slot.

Abstract: Apparatus and methodology providing, a portable enclosed space in an outdoors setting, the space being free from environmentally-induced distractions. A technician can perform a mechanical or fusion splice on an optical fiber inside the space. Splicing or fusing miniscule optical fibers is challenging out of doors, particularly when distracted b wind, rain, snow, sun-glare, bugs, animals, etc. A tent is supported by a “spine” support structure modularly constructed by the technician in the outdoors location where an optical fiber operation shall take place. A splice-tray is affixed to the spine, the tray height being adjustable to accommodate that technician and provide an approximately horizontal work surface. The tent can be used on soft ground, hard pavement, leaning against utility poles or further supported by attachment to overhead cables. The technician can perform delicate operations on optical cables inside the tent with outside distractions mitigated.

Abstract: An approach for providing incomplete action monitoring and service for data transactions is described. Incompleteness of a transaction event associated with an application is monitored. The incompleteness of the transaction event is detected in response to a failure in a communication session that transports data of the application. State information relating to transmission of the data for the application is stored. The restoration of the communication session is determined. Completion of the transaction event is initiated based on the stored state information.

Abstract: A device receives an identification of a series to schedule automatic recording of episodes that are currently airing or that will be airing in the future, receives an instruction to automatically retrieve previously aired episodes of the scheduled series based on the scheduling of the automatic recording of the episodes that are currently airing or that will be airing in the future. The device searches content, based on receipt of the instruction, to retrieve previously aired episodes of the scheduled series. The device records at least one episode of the scheduled series, and presents the recorded at least one episode of the scheduled series and the previously aired episodes of the scheduled series such that a user may select and play the at least one episode of the scheduled series or the previously aired episodes of the scheduled series.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for a management and development framework of shared business service assets within a common services oriented architecture strategy are provided. The framework comprises a multi-dimensional business oriented taxonomy that is aligned with organizational business services requiring software support. The framework affords advantageous placement of business service assets using a product publication schema and rapid search and discovery of business service assets through a product discovery schema. Implementation of the framework across multiple units of an organization facilitates business service asset reuse, thereby enabling a minimization of asset redundancy, reduction in business application development time and cost, and rapid market entry for organizational products.

Abstract: An approach is provided for auto-bandwidth adjustment of allocated bandwidth for a traffic tunnel over a network. A determination is made regarding a traffic load over the tunnel, where the tunnel meters traffic in accordance with the bandwidth allocation. A determination is made regarding whether the traffic load triggers an adjustment threshold, where the adjustment threshold is set to provide a desired headroom below the bandwidth allocation. And the bandwidth allocation is adjusted when the adjustment threshold is triggered to provide the desired headroom between the adjusted bandwidth allocation and the traffic load.

Abstract: A first server may: receive, from a second server, a request for location information associated with a first user device having a first identifier and a second identifier, or a request for information to identify one or more second user devices located in a particular geographic area; determine the second identifier based on information stored by the first server mapping the second identifier to the first identifier; provide, to the third server, the second identifier to request the location information associated with the second identifier; receive the location information associated with the second identifier; and provide, to the second server, the location information associated with the user device based on receiving the location information. The first server may provide information regarding the geographic area to the third server to receive the information identifying the one or more user devices in the geographic area.

Abstract: A system may be configured to compute an estimated location of a user device based on an estimation coefficient and a measured distance between the user device and a base station. The estimation coefficient may be based on: an actual distance between a reference device and the base station, and a measured distance between the reference device and the base station. The system may store or output the information regarding the estimated location of the device.
