  • Patent number: 6220009
Abstract: A damping device for the spinning rotor (3) of an open-end spinning device (1). The spinning rotor (3) is fixed radially and axially via a magnet support arrangement (43), supported in a galvanically separated manner as regards the housing of the spinning device (1) and rotates with a high rotary frequency. The damping device (42) converts oscillations occurring especially during the acceleration phase and when passing through the natural frequency range directly into friction losses.

  • Patent number: 6209304
Abstract: A device for producing spun yarn by means of an airflow acting in the area between a sliver guide and a spindle (13) on fibers of a non-twisted sliver (10) drafted and delivered by a drafting arrangement in order to twist the fibers. Thereafter, the sliver (10) is passed through the spindle (13). Outside of an imaginary center line (9) of the traveling sliver (10), the sliver guide is arranged such that the fibers are passed along the inward lying surface of the sliver guide. The sliver guide comprises fiber guide elements (16) spaced apart from each other, which permit the free passage of a core fiber bundle. An improved spinning process, along with high productivity and increased yarn strength is possible by means of the device of the invention. The spinning device can be manufactured and operated cost-effectively.

  • Patent number: 6206320
Abstract: A method for operating a cheese-producing textile machine which produces cheeses of the “random winding” type, wherein the contact pressure of the cheese on the yarn guiding cylinder is reduced and the cheese is simultaneously charged with a braking torque for preventing pattern windings. The angular velocity w of the cheese (4) is continuously determined and processed in a control device (18) such that, when or shortly prior to reaching a so-called pattern winding zone (BWZ), the angular velocity w1 determined by the diameter d1 of the cheese (4) is reduced by means of the definite adjustment of the contact pressure with which the cheese (4) rests on the yarn guiding cylinder (3), to an angular velocity w2 which lies below the angular velocity wk of a cheese of the critical diameter dk, driven without slippage, which causes pattern winding.

  • Patent number: 6138937
Abstract: A method for operating a cheese-producing textile machine (1), having a plurality of aligned work stations (2), a transport device (21) extending over the length of the machine for removing finished cheeses (11), and a cheese changer (23) displaceable above the work stations with an ultrasound sensor device (30) connected to the control device (38) of the cheese changer (23) for monitoring the loading state of the transport device (21). The sensor device (30, 38) is initially set to the climatic conditions of the respective place of employment by processing appropriate reference sound signals, i.e. a correction factor is determined. During operation, scanning values (TW) are then determined by means of the traveling time of the measuring sound signals of the ultrasound sensor (30) which, taking into consideration the respectively prevailing climatic conditions, permit conclusions regarding the loading state of the transport device (21) in the deposit areas of the respective work station (2).

  • Patent number: 6123989
Abstract: A spinning rotor (1) with a spinning cup (2) has an interior surface coated with a nickel dispersion layer (6) of an essentially even layer thickness having a concentration of hard material grains (7) embedded therein which is clearly less at the surface of the fiber slide face (9) than in the rotor groove. The coating is produced by bathing the spinning cup in a nickel dispersion bath during the final stage of which the concentration of the hard material grains in the bath is reduced at least in the bathing area, while the spinning cup is moved in this bath and rotated around its longitudinal axis while maintaining the spinning cup in a spatial orientation relative to the bath wherein an imaginary plane passing through the rotor groove is at least approximately perpendicular to the surface of the nickel dispersion bath.

  • Patent number: 6109014
Abstract: A method and a device for initiating the rewinding process after a yarn break in single stage pot spinning. In the process, a yarn detaching device (14) is introduced into a spinning centrifuge (3) rotating a high rpm, and places a cutting edge (16, 48) against the conically wound portion (32) of a spinning cake (15) deposited on the inner wall (26) of the spinning centrifuge (3). The yarn detaching device (14) has a yarn guide device, whose yarn guide contour (17, 43) covers the cutting edge (16, 48) of the yarn detaching device (14) such that in the course of the initiation of the rewinding process lower winding layers of the conically wound portion (32) are lifted on the rewinding tube (9) and in this way dependably prevents the winding of yarn around the yarn detaching device (14) during the rewinding process.
