Abstract: An apparatus for extracting a changed part of an image includes a separate graphic-element acquisition unit configured to acquire separate graphic-elements included in each of a first image and a second image and an integrative graphic-element acquisition unit configured to associate the separate graphic-elements with one another based on geometric relation thereamong, and to acquire integrative graphic-elements each including the separate graphic-elements associated with one another. The apparatus further includes a correspondence relation acquisition unit configured to acquire correspondence relation between the integrative graphic-element included in the first image and the integrative graphic-element included in the second image and a changed part extraction unit configured to extract a changed part between the first image and the second image based on the correspondence relation.

Abstract: An input image representation is generated based on an aggregation of local descriptors extracted from an input image, and is adjusted by performing a power normalization, an Lp normalization such as an L2 normalization, or both. In some embodiments the generating comprises modeling the extracted local descriptors using a probabilistic model to generate the input image representation comprising probabilistic model component values for a set of probabilistic model components. In some such embodiments the probabilistic model comprises a Gaussian mixture model and the probabilistic model components comprise Gaussian components of the Gaussian mixture model. The generating may include partitioning the input image into a plurality of image partitions using a spatial pyramids partitioning model, extracting local descriptors, such as Fisher vectors, from the image partitions, and concatenating the local descriptors extracted from the image partitions.

The method and system include loading, by a processing device, a variable data campaign from a computer readable storage medium operably connected to the processing device; extracting, by the processing device, variable data from the campaign; semantically classifying, by the processing device, the variable data to produce semantically classified variable data; building, by the processing device, a variable data campaign model based upon the semantically classified variable data; and storing, by the processing device, the variable data campaign model in the computer readable storage medium.

Abstract: A display medium includes: a pair of substrates; a spacing member that maintain a gap between the pair of substrates and has a first portion projecting in an intersecting direction, the intersecting direction intersecting a direction in which the pair of substrates face each other; and a holding layer that is provided on at least one of the pair of substrates such that the holding layer fills a space between the at least one of the pair of substrates and an end face of the spacing member, the holding layer covers the first portion from the end face of the spacing member, and the holding layer holds an end part of the spacing member in the direction in which the pair of substrates face each other.

Abstract: An ink delivery system is configured to supply ink to an ink reservoir fluidly coupled to inkjet ejectors and remove ink from a receptacle mounted proximate to the ink reservoir using a single conduit. The ink reservoir is configured to prevent air from being pulled through a reservoir membrane, and a reversible pump is configured to produce positive and negative pressure in the conduit to supply ink to the ink reservoir and remove ink from the receptacle, respectively.

Abstract: A method for producing an inkjet printhead that includes aligning and stacking together an aperture plate and a plurality of jetstack plates; bonding together the aperture plate and plurality of jetstack plates; and depositing a layer of coating material to a surface of the aperture plate by inkjet printing to form a coating on at least a portion of the surface of the aperture plate.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: an image information input section into which image information is input, and image holding members by which toner images of two or more colors including black and clear colors are held, respectively. The image forming apparatus further includes a transfer-receiving material to which toner of all colors are transferred from their respective image holding members, an image-area pinpointing section wherein an area of clear toner image to be superposed on a linear image region to be formed with toner of the black color is pinpointed in the image information input into the image information input section, and an image processing section wherein is performed replacement processing that at least part of black image on the pinpointed image area is formed with a hybrid of two or more kinds of colored toner instead of black toner.

Abstract: An image scanner includes: a light source that irradiates, with light, a recording medium on which an image is formed; a light receiving portion that receives light reflected by the recording medium; a reflecting portion that has plural reflecting surfaces respectively disposed at positions having different distances in an optical axis direction from the light receiving portion; and a processing portion that generates information on the image formed on the recording medium and information for measuring illumination depth of the light source, by use of the light received by the light receiving portion.

The method includes loading, by a processing device, a data set comprising one or more open class nouns from a computer readable medium operably connected to the processing device; extracting, by the processing device, the one or more open class nouns from the data set; for each open class noun, querying, by the processing device, one or more application programming interfaces (APIs) to produce one or more results; deriving, by the processing device, a confidence score for the data set based upon the one or more results; and determining, by the processing device, a classification for the data set based upon the derived confidence score.

Abstract: An image forming device provided with a restart unit and a deletion unit. If processing requiring a restart of the image forming device is requested by another terminal device that is connected via a communications circuit, the restart unit causes the image forming device to restart. If the processing requiring the restart is requested by the other terminal device while a service process relating to image processing is being provided by a service process provision device that is connected via the communications circuit, the deletion unit deletes data relating to use of the service process before the image forming device is restarted.

Abstract: A method for producing an endless belt includes partially covering a circumferential surface of a cylindrical mold with a covering film member nonadhesive to the mold by fixing the covering film member with a fixing member, applying a resin material to the circumferential surface of the mold, curing the resin material to form a resin film, and removing the resin film from the mold by blowing a gas into a gap between the circumferential surface of the mold and the covering film member.

Abstract: Speculative query expansion is a way to increase the effectiveness of relevance feedback. Instead of picking the best expansion query beforehand, multiple queries are executed and the best expansion query is selected afterward, but with no additional effort (or information) required from the user. From the best expansion query, search results and expanded queries more pertinent to the user can therefore be provided.

Abstract: An image processing device includes a body that has a first connection portion and a second connection portion inside the body; an image processing board that is electrically connected to the first connection portion, the image processing board performing image processing; a functional board that is disposed so as to cover a part of the image processing board on one side of the image processing board; a side panel attached to the image processing board at a position opposite to the first connection portion, the side panel being a part of a side surface of the body; and an extension board disposed so as to cover another part of the image processing board on the same side as the functional board with respect to the image processing board, the extension board being electrically connected to the second connection portion and independently attachable to and removable from the image processing board.

Abstract: This is a toner-dispensing unit using a blow-molded, one-piece toner bottle with integral tabs. The tabs are uniquely designed so that they can only be used with specific marking machines. The tabs fit into mating slots in a drive dog so that installation, while usually a blind installation of bottles, is easily accomplished. The one-piece, blow-molded bottle with integral tabs used with mating slots in a drive dog provides an improvement over prior used toner-dispensing units.

Abstract: The presently disclosed embodiments relate generally to the formulation of an anticurl back coating layer that renders imaging apparatus flexible members and components their desirable flatness, for use in electrostatographic, including digital apparatuses. More particularly, the embodiments pertain to an imaging member comprising an anticurl back coating layer formulated to comprise conductive carbon nanotubes dispersion in a polymer blend comprising three film-forming thermoplastic polymers to: (a) render electrical conductivity effect for tribo-electrical charge elimination (b) impart static dissipation capability, and (c) provide surface energy lowering effect for contact friction reduction to ease imaging member belt drive as well as cutting tribo-electrical charge build-up under normal imaging member belt operational conditions in the field.

The method may include determining an average volume used per day of the consumable, determining an average delivery time for the consumable, determining an average installation time for the consumable, determining a low level threshold of the consumable based on average volume used per day of a consumable, average delivery time for the consumable, and average installation time for the consumable, determining if the fill level of the consumable is less than the determined low level threshold, wherein if it is determined that the fill level of the consumable is less than the determined low level threshold, ordering a replacement consumable.

Abstract: A method compensates for changes in drop mass of drops ejected by ink jets in a printhead of an ink jet imaging device. The method comprises identifying an average drop placement position for a printhead with reference to ink drop positions on an image receiving member and adjusting a parameter of one or more ink jet driving signals in response to the average drop placement position being greater than a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: A projector for masking out one or more objects between the projector and a screen. The projector includes an image capture sensor configured to produce a captured screen image. The projector further includes a processing device configured to receive a video-in signal, create a masking image that corresponds to at least a portion of the captured screen image, and produce a video-out signal, wherein the video-out signal comprises a combination of the video-in signal and the masking image. A panel controller in the projector receives the video-out signal and causes at least one or more pixels of at least one panel to be closed based upon the masking image such that any objects positioned between the projector and the screen are masked from any light projected by the projector.
