Abstract: A method uses temperature measurements for a print head and an imaging member to identify a distance between a print head and an imaging member. The method determines whether the print head at the print position is too close to the imaging member to identify the gap distance without damage to the print head. Then, if the print head is not too close, the print head is heated to quantify the heat sink effect of the imaging member on the print head. This effect is related to a heat transfer function that identifies the gap distance between the imaging member and the print head.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus that includes a character recognition component, a determining component and a generating component is provided. The determining component determines, when document data is generated that contains first data representing the document and representing the entity in which the characters are mixed and second data containing character code data of the characters recognized by the character recognition component and representing a character block displaying the characters represented by the character code data, whether to hide the character block represented by the second data behind the entity represented by the first data or to display the character block represented by the second data in front of the entity represented by the first data when the document represented by the document data is displayed, based on lightness or distribution of the lightness of a background region around the characters of the entity or the like.
Abstract: An improved method of measuring relative positions of adjacent printheads in a printhead array has been developed. A pair of ink dashes is made with different colors of ink from adjacent printheads and an offset distance between the dashes is determined from color density measurements of the two dashes. The offset distance may then be used to adjust the stitch alignment of the two printheads.
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a vector data acquiring unit, a partial vector data generating unit, and a partial image data generating unit. The vector data acquiring unit acquires vector data contained in image data representing a document image. The partial vector data generating unit generates plural pieces of partial vector data for drawing respective parts into which a drawing target based on the vector data is divided. The partial image data generating unit generates plural pieces of partial image data which include the plural pieces of partial vector data and which constitute the document image.
Abstract: Various embodiments provide systems and methods for digital offset/flexo printing by selectively addressing one or more hole-injecting pixels of a nano-enabled imaging member to form a latent image thereon, wherein the latent image can be electrostatically developed with an ink and then transferred from the nano-enabled imaging member onto a print media.
