  • Patent number: 8059906
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes an extraction unit, a counting unit and an information embedding unit. The extraction unit extracts a circumscribed figure of a pixel block in an image. The counting unit counts contact portions between the circumscribed figure extracted by the extraction unit and the pixel block. The information embedding unit embeds information to be embedded by adjusting a number of the contact portions between the pixel block and the circumscribed figure extracted by the extraction unit based on the number of contact portions counted by the counting unit and the information to be embedded.

  • Patent number: 8060000
Abstract: A method and system for reducing contamination build-up within a fuser roll system are disclosed. The method and system includes a donor roll in rotational combination with a fuser roll. The donor roll can be configured to transfer a toner release agent to the fuser roll to reduce toner build-up on the surface of the fuser roll. A grounded static brush can be located proximate to the donor roll. The grounded static brush can be configured to inductively remove electrostatic discharge from the surface of the donor roll. The reduced electrostatic reduces contamination build-up on the fuser roll, and therefore increases the cycle life of the components of the fuser roll system.

  • Patent number: 8060512
Abstract: What is disclosed is a novel system and method for analyzing multi-dimensional cluster data sets to identify clusters of related documents in an electronic document storage system. Digital documents, for which multi-dimensional probabilistic relationships are to be determined, are received and then parsed to identify multi-dimensional count data with at least three dimensions. Multi-dimensional tensors representing the count data and estimated cluster membership probabilities are created. The tensors are then iteratively processed using a first and a complementary second tensor factorization model to refine the cluster definition matrices until a convergence criteria has been satisfied. Likely cluster memberships for the count data are determined based upon the refinements made to the cluster definition matrices by the alternating tensor factorization models.

  • Patent number: 8057005
Abstract: A method of compensating for changes in drop mass of drop emitted by at least one ink jet of an ink jet imaging device is provided. The method comprises identifying a drop placement position on an image receiving member of an ink jet imaging device for at least one ink jet of a print head. The identified drop placement position for the at least one ink jet is compared to a default drop placement position for the at least one ink jet to determine a difference in drop placement position. A drive signal for the at least one ink jet is then adjusted in accordance with the difference in drop placement position.

  • Patent number: 8059134
Abstract: A method of retaining original natural language commands along with the mathematical LUT transform of the commands and a private tag within the same ICC profile. The private tag can be read only by an exclusive or proprietary application or color management module. When a user loads a color editing profile into the proprietary application, the natural language commands could then be read from the private tag and displayed on a user interface. The user can then immediately see the qualitative effect of the color editing profile and provide selected modifications to the commands and retain a new set of commands stored in another profile.
