Abstract: A method of forming conductive features on a substrate, the method includes reacting a metal compound with a reducing agent in the presence of a stabilizer in a reaction mixture comprising the metal compound, the reducing agent, and the stabilizer, wherein the reaction mixture is substantially free of solvent, to form a plurality of metal nanoparticles with molecules of the stabilizer on the surface of the metal nanoparticles. After isolating the plurality of metal nanoparticles, a liquid composition that includes a polymeric binder, a liquid and the plurality of metal nanoparticles with molecules of the stabilizer on the surface of the metal nanoparticles is deposited on a substrate by a liquid deposition technique to form a deposited composition. The deposited composition is then heated to form conductive features on the substrate.

Abstract: A system for retrieval of text includes a processor which identifies grammar rules associated with text fragments of a text string that is retrieved from an associated storage medium, and retrieves text strings from the storage medium which satisfy the grammar rules. A display displays retrieved text strings. A user input device in communication with the processor enables a user to select text fragments of the displayed text strings for generating a query. The processor identifies grammar rules associated with the user-selected text fragments and retrieves text strings from the storage medium which satisfy the grammar rules.
Abstract: A document processing operation system includes: a rewrite unit; and an image display medium for holding display of a document image rewritably and in a substantially no-power supply state, which is attached to the rewrite unit, wherein the rewrite unit performs display image rewrite processing for the image display medium, wherein the image display medium comprises: an operation device that accepts operation input from a user; and an information providing section that transmits operation information entered on the operation device in a wirelessly readable manner, and wherein the rewrite unit comprises: a read section that wirelessly reads the operation information transmitted by the information providing section; a processing section that performs processing relating to document data preset in response to the read operation information; and a write section that writes a document image to the image display medium with the read operation information under a control of the processing section.
Abstract: A character recognition processing system includes a character recognition confidence evaluating unit that evaluates whether confidence of character recognition of a plurality of areas are low or high, a character area classification unit that classifies a first area evaluated low by the character recognition confidence evaluating unit into a plurality of components, a character separation unit that separates the components classified by the character area classification unit into a character component and non-character components, according to information relating to a second area evaluated high by the character recognition confidence evaluating unit, and a first character recognition unit that performs character recognition processing for the character component separated by the character separation unit.
Abstract: An apparatus for transporting processed sheets within a printing device. The apparatus includes a compiler including a slot for receiving the processed sheets. The slot is defined at least in part by a paper guide. An elevator is in operative communication with the compiler. The elevator includes a stop for supporting the processed sheets and a drive mechanism for moving the stop and processed sheets supported thereby between a plurality of positions. The stop has a first position for initially receiving the processed sheets. The stop is movable from the first position in a generally upward direction to a second position for breaking adhesion between a processed sheet and the paper guide. The stop is movable in a generally downward direction from the second position to a third position.
Abstract: Images are prepared for blending with a reflection. Angles of incidence and angles or reflection lead to reflections of a viewer appearing to be different than actual size. Accordingly, image preparation can include scaling images of objects to be blended with a reflection to an appropriate size. For a flat specular surface the size is one half the size the object would be if the object were sized to be associated with the feature that is reflected. A viewer will focus on the reflection of the viewer at an object plane. An image associated with the specular surface will be blurred. Accordingly, the preparation can include compensating for the blurring. Preparation can also include reducing an area coverage of the image of the object to no more than about fifty percent of the region of the refection to provide space for the reflection.

Abstract: An apparatus and method that configures a facsimile transmission protocol for a facsimile device is disclosed. The method can include transmitting an echo request via a network connection to a facsimile device. The method can include receiving a response to the echo request via the network connection from the facsimile device. The method can include determining network throughput impairments based on the received response to the echo request. The method can include adjusting a facsimile transmission protocol based on the determined network throughput impairments. The method can include transmitting a facsimile message based on the adjusted facsimile transmission protocol.

Abstract: Aspects of the exemplary embodiment relate to a system and method for processing a document which enables assessment of the coherence of an abstract of the document. The method includes storing the document in memory and, for each sentence of the abstract, comparing the sentence with sentences of a main body of the document using textual entailment techniques to identify whether the sentence of the abstract entails a sentence in the main body of the document. Links can then be generated between the entailing sentences of the abstract and the corresponding entailed sentences of the document. The document and generated links are output. The links enable the coherence of the abstract to be evaluated, either manually or automatically, using an evaluation component of the system.
Abstract: The present disclosure is a simple method to compensate for development starvation in an existing development control system already using solid area development and halftone development patches. By using a small aperture specular sensor, it is possible to measure the starvation and compare with a standard. Defect level can then be addressed by correcting toner concentration to reduce the image density defect at the solid/halftone boundary.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for generation of page templates are provided. The method includes providing a document in computer memory. Using a computer processor, page elements within the document are identified and labeled. For each page of the document, a set of geometric relations between pairs of page elements co-occurring on the page is computed, and the set of geometric relations is associated with the page. The method also includes generating a set of page template candidates based at least in part on the computed geometric relations, selecting page templates from the set of page template candidates, and outputting the selected page templates.
