Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention describe a collaborative framework for mining of surveillance videos to detect abnormal events, which introduces a two-stage training process to alleviate the high false alarm problem. In the first stage, unsupervised clustering is performed on the segments of the video streams and a set of abnormal events are combined with user feedback to generate a clean training set. In the second stage, the clean training set is used to train a more precise model for the analysis of normal events and the motion detection results from multiple cameras can be cross validated and combined. This description is not intended to be a complete description of, or limit the scope of, the invention. Other features, aspects, and objects of the invention can be obtained from a review of the specification, the figures, and the claims.

Abstract: An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a user interface device. The image forming apparatus forms an image on a recording material. The user interface device is connected to the image forming apparatus. The user interface device accepts a user's input, outputs the input to the image forming apparatus and displays information based on data input from the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus sends a notification to the user interface device before the image forming apparatus executes a process of changing one operation mode to another operation mode. The process of changing includes disconnecting communication between the image forming apparatus and the user interface device. The user interface device displays information corresponding to the notification received from the image forming apparatus.

Abstract: A regulated black colorant amount calculating section calculates a corresponding regulated black colorant amount from the L*a*b* of a plurality of typical color signals in a partial color gamut, which can be represented by three colors excluding black. An optimum black colorant amount modeling section performs color prediction modeling to predict an optimum black colorant amount in a whole color gamut from plural sets of the typical color signal and the regulated black colorant amount. At this time, an extrapolation prediction from a color in a partial color gamut to a whole color gamut is performed to predict the optimum black colorant amount in which a natural color reproduction. By using the color prediction modeling, the optimum black colorant amount determining section determines a corresponding optimum black colorant amount from the L*a*b* of an input lattice point. a YMCK signal calculating section determines residual YMC and outputs a YMCK signal.
Abstract: Text, images, and/or graphics of electronic documents should be organized and laid out in a two-dimensional format for presentation to the viewer. The best such layout depends upon the content present, the creator's intent, the output device, and the viewer's interests. To analyze the qualitative nature of the layout in quantifiable terms, the electronic document is measure using various quantifiable factors; such as, balance, uniformity, white space management, alignment, consistency, legibility, etc.; that impact a qualitative nature of a document. Such quantifiable factors are then used to quantize the aesthetics, ease of use, eye-catching ability, interest, communicability, comfort, and convenience of the document.
