  • Patent number: 7232634
Abstract: A charge transport layer for an imaging member comprising a charge transport material with a nitrogen molecular defense system not exhibiting early onset of charge transport layer fatigue cracking. The nitrogen molecular defense system includes attaching bulky organic groups to charge transport materials. The bulky groups aid in preventing recrystallization of the charge transport molecule and shield the nitrogen from molecular attack, such as by oxidation. The charge transport layer exhibits excellent wear resistance, excellent electrical performance, and outstanding print quality.

  • Patent number: 7233747
Abstract: An image forming apparatus sets operation modes different from an operation mode corresponding to a genuine article when the replaceable unit of the non-article article is mounted thereto, such that a user can select an operation mode via a UI device. And then, the image forming apparatus stores history information regarding an operation mode selected by the selection of the user, attribute information of a mounted replaceable unit (for example, a determination result of determining whether or not the replaceable unit is the genuine article), and history information (the number of printing sheets, error codes, or the like) of a printing process which is made in the operation mode, to be associated with each other.

  • Patent number: 7233695
Abstract: A method and a system for computing the function value of an input node based on function values of known nodes. A database of known nodes and their corresponding function values is formed. The known nodes are located such that a distance between any two adjacent known nodes is an integer power-of-two number. The database is searched for a first node such that the input node is located between the first node and an adjacent second node. The difference ? between the input node and the first node is computed. Then ? is shifted to the right by k positions, k being the logarithm in base 2 of the distance between the first and second nodes. The input node function value is computed by combining the first node function value with the product of the shifted ? and the difference between the function values of the second and first nodes. When used in MRC context, the above method and system is applied to each of the color MRC planes individually, instead of the merged output.

  • Publication number: 20070133058
Abstract: An image forming control apparatus includes: a gradation correction curve generator and a calibration data generator. The gradation correction curve generator generates a gradation correction curve based on a correspondence between an output instruction values each representing a density of an image to be formed by an image forming apparatus and actual density values each representing a density of the image formed by the image forming apparatus. The gradation correction curve represents a correspondence between predetermined standard density values and the output instruction values. When an output instruction value corresponding to a maximum standard density value is smaller than a maximum output instruction value, the calibration data generator corrects the gradation correction curve so that the output instruction value corresponding to the maximum standard density value coincides with the maximum output instruction value, and generates the calibration data based on the corrected gradation correction curve.

  • Publication number: 20070133842
Abstract: A document layout is adjusted to alter the quality of the document by generating an initial document with a plurality of blocks. A user can manually adjust the parameters of the document. Thereafter, a base quantized quality score is generated for the document based upon the manually changed parameters of the document. The parameters of the document are changed and a first quantized quality score for the document is generated. The first quantized quality score is compared with the base quantized quality score. If the first quantized quality score is closer to a preferred quantized quality score than the bench quantized quality score, the base quantized quality score is changed to equal the first quantized quality score and the parameters of the document to equal the changes. The changed document may be displayed after each comparison so that the user can accept the changed document.
