Abstract: According to the present invention, the method for producing toner for developing an image of electrostatic charge comprises the steps of producing a dispersion liquid of flocculated particles by forming the flocculated particles in a dispersion liquid comprising at least dispersed resin particles, forming combined particles by dispersing a liquid dispersion comprising dispersed fine resin particles into the dispersion liquid of flocculated particles so that the fine resin particles adhere to the flocculated particles and forming toner particles by fusing the combined particles by heating, wherein the molecular weight distribution curve of the resin in the toner particles by a gel permeation chromatography has at least two peaks or shoulders. According to the present invention, it is possible to produce toner for developing an image of electrostatic charge which is particularly superior in chargeability and the stability of the chargeability.

The toner has an excellent fixing property at low temperature, an anti-offset property and a wide fixing latitude.
Abstract: A depleted-gate photosensor, or photogate, structure includes a polysilicon layer disposed over a silicon substrate. The polysilicon layer occupies only a portion of each exposure area of the substrate, and is preferably in the form of a ring around the exposure area. By having a portion of the exposure area not covered by the polysilicon, the blue-light-attenuation effects of a polysilicon layer are reduced.

Abstract: A thin film organic light emitting diode with edge emitter waveguide comprises, in sequence, a substrate, a waveguide, an anode, a hole transport layer, an electroluminescent layer, and a cathode. Voltage applied between the anode and cathode causes the electroluminescent layer to emit light through the hole transport layer and the anode into the waveguide where the light is internally reflected within the waveguide and propagates through the length of the waveguide to be emitted through the edge of the waveguide. The non-emission edge of the waveguide may be sloped with a conductor layer to the anode and a conductor layer to the cathode forming a reflective surface to the non-emission edge.
Abstract: Column wirings are divided into at least two groups of first column wirings and second column wirings. Image data corresponding to different rows in one frame are supplied to these groups of column wirings at the single timing. At the same timing, row signals are applied to the different wirings at e.g. j=1 and j=17. Rows and columns can be replaced by each other.
Abstract: Simulated photographic-quality prints are created using non-photographic imaging such as xerography and ink jet. Reverse reading toner images are formed on a transparent substrate which is adhered to a coated backing sheet. The backing sheet is coated with a lightfastness material for minimizing degradation of color images exposed to UV light.
Abstract: An ink-jet printhead chip in which digital image data is submitted to circuitry on a printhead, "mode signals" are periodically loaded into the printhead circuitry along with the image data. The mode signal can determine which of a plurality of subsets of ejectors in the printhead are to be activated at any given time. By iteration or manipulation of these mode signals, various specific print-quality techniques, such as entering a "draft mode" or altering the order of ejector activation across the array, can be carried out.
Abstract: A charging apparatus for applying a uniform electrostatic charge to a charge retentive surface is provided. The charging apparatus is operably electrically connectable to a power supply for supplying an electrical bias to the charging apparatus. The apparatus includes a housing and an electrode mounted to the housing and positioned adjacent the surface in a non-contact relationship therewith. The apparatus also includes an electrical connector, electrically connected to the electrode and electrically connectable to the power supply. The electrical connector provides an electrical bias to said electrode. The electrical connector extends from the electrode and is integral therewith.

Abstract: The fusing device using a heat accumulated heating medium and the fusing process using the same is disclosed. The fusing device comprises a heating member having relatively low heat capacity, a heat accumulating system for temporarily accumulating heat energy at the heating member, a nip arrangement for nipping the toner image between the heating member and the copy sheet with an appropriate pressure contact so that the nip arrangement primarily transfers the heat energy from the heating member to the toner image and subsequently cools the toner image, a cooling system for cooling the toner image between the heating member and the copy sheet and a detaching system for detaching the copy sheet from the heating member. The thermal efficiency of the fusing device and process speed for the fusing operation is improved. The fusing condition for both of black color toner image and full color toner image is finely adjustable in this fusing device.
Abstract: A job development task performs image processing on image data of input jobs. An output section control task causes the processed image data to be output from a print section, a FAX transmission/reception section, or the like. A job control task recognizes the execution state of a specified job. A UI control task determines alterable process items relating to the specified job in accordance with the recognized execution state, and causes those process items to be displayed on a display device of an operation section. As a result, in altering a certain process item of the job, the process items that can be set are displayed in accordance with the job state of the specified job, which allows the user to alter the process item correctly and quickly.

Abstract: A laser beam optical focusing system consists of two symmetrical diffractive optical elements. The optical system has a spot size of less than one micron and a Strehl ratio of over 0.9 with a f/number of one and a total object/image field of either 0.5 or 1 micron.
Abstract: In a facsimile communication method, when a home facsimile machine makes the transition to simplified protocol phase B because of sensing polarity inversion, CED reception from an associated machine, etc., it stores 9600 bps as the initial value of control signal communication speed and sends a communication speed notification signal of the frequency corresponding to the stored communication speed to the associated machine, then sends an NSS thereto at the stored communication speed. When receiving the communication speed notification signal, the associated machine previously senses execution of the simplified protocol and the communication speed of the subsequently received NSS from the notification signal and receives the NSS at the sensed communication speed, then sends a communication speed notification signal of the frequency corresponding to the sensed communication speed and subsequently sends an NSF at the communication speed.
