  • Patent number: 9818315
Abstract: Content is securely shared between communication devices in an ad-hoc manner by employing common sensing context to establish pairing between the communication devices. In one aspect, the communication devices are within a specified distance from each other and sense common signals from their environment over a specified time period. The common signals are analyzed to determine an initialization or session key, which is utilized to secure content transfer between the communication devices. Additionally or alternatively, the key is utilized to provide access to virtual (e.g., digital content) and/or physical (e.g., buildings) resources.

  • Patent number: 9819592
Abstract: A system for automatic reconciliation of data throughput is disclosed. In particular, the system may include automatically and repetitively measuring the available upload and download throughput that a user of an internet service provider statistically receives through the course of a selected period of time. The system jointly monitors the user's data usage volume over time and automatically determines if the user is subscribing for throughput that the user is not receiving at the times that the user is using his or her subscribed service. If the system determines that the user is subscribing for throughput that the user is not receiving, the system may perform a variety of corrective actions. Such corrective actions may include reducing the subscribed for throughput, transmitting a notification to the user to modify the subscribed service, or increasing the subscribed for throughput to improve the user's experience with the internet service provider.

  • Patent number: 9819697
Abstract: A system for diffusing denial-of-service attacks by using virtual machines is disclosed. In particular, the system may receive, from a measurement probe, a network transaction measurement associated with a first node in a network. Based on the network transaction measurement, the system may determine if the network transaction measurement satisfies a threshold measurement value. If the network transaction measurement satisfies the threshold measurement value, the system may determine that an attack is occurring at the first node in the network. The system may then identify one or more nodes that have capacity for handling traffic intended for the first node. Once the one or more nodes are identified, the system may launch virtual machines at the one or more nodes to handle legitimate traffic intended for the first node.

  • Patent number: 9810765
Abstract: A femtocell calibration solution is provided that uses the known location of the femtocell to calibrate timing based locating systems. The calculated time differences of different signals sent between macrocells and a mobile device can be used to solve for a reference time difference that accounts for the timing differences of the unsynchronized macrocells. The reference time difference can then be used to solve for the location of another mobile device if the calculated time differences between that mobile device and the macrocells are known. The solution can include taking many measurements of the calculated time difference at the first mobile device in order to average them to get a more accurate reference time difference. The solution can further include ceasing measurements at the first mobile device when the mobile device is no longer within range of the femtocell.

  • Patent number: 9813774
Abstract: A mobile broadcast service center and a mobile wireless network to deliver broadcast video to mobile wireless devices is described. When the mobile broadcast service center receives a request to deliver a broadcast video channel to a target mobile wireless device, it designates as target an intermediate node in the network that serves the target mobile wireless device. The mobile broadcast service center first determines if an existing channel bundle is routed to the target intermediate node. If this first determination is negative, the mobile broadcast service center routes a new channel bundle to the target intermediate node, including the requested broadcast video channel. If the first determination is positive, the mobile broadcast service center then determines if the requested broadcast video channel is in the existing channel bundle. If this second determination is negative, then it adds the requested broadcast video channel to the existing channel bundle.

  • Patent number: 9813876
Abstract: Location information (e.g., GPS information) pertaining to the location of a device may be integrated into a distributed antenna system (DAS) to enhance location based services. This may be accomplished via a system that filters and combines GPS information with DAS information. Utilization of the enhanced location based services system may enhance accuracy performance of indoor location services and improve round-trip time (RTT) location responses associated with network assisted GPS (e.g., A-GPS) location requests for services from indoor calls.

  • Patent number: 9813936
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, identifying a data request to transfer data for a mobile device across a mobile network. The data request occurs within a time interval of a number of time intervals, each having a duration greater than a data transfer time across the mobile network. A volume is determined of the data requested, and compared to a data transfer capacity of the wireless access terminal. A transfer of the data is scheduled within the time interval, responsive to the volume of data requested being less than the data transfer capacity. The transfer of the data is deferred to another time interval, responsive to the volume of data requested being greater than the data transfer capacity, and the deferring of the data to another time includes resubmitting the data request in another time interval of the plurality of time intervals. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to universal peer-to-peer signaling network virtualization and orchestration. According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a universal DIAMETER orchestrator can determine DIAMETER peer nodes to be utilized to handle DIAMETER signaling traffic for a service. The universal DIAMETER orchestrator can allocate transport resources over which a transport connection between the DIAMETER peer nodes can be established. In some embodiments, the universal DIAMETER orchestrator can allocate the transport resources on-demand. The universal DIAMETER orchestrator can allocate DIAMETER resources to provision DIAMETER signaling interfaces to handle the DIAMETER signaling traffic between the DIAMETER peer nodes. In some embodiments, the universal DIAMETER orchestrator can allocate the DIAMETER resources in accordance with a rule to override a traditional DIAMETER routing agent.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to policy driven emergency traffic handling for machine-to-machine (“M2M”) device communication. According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, an M2M application server can receive a plurality of emergency messages from a mobility management entity (“MME”) over a control plane interface. The plurality emergency message can be generated by a plurality of M2M devices in response to an emergency event. The M2M application server can filter, based upon a policy, the plurality of emergency messages to remove duplicate messages of the plurality of emergency messages in order to create a clean group of emergency messages. The M2M application server can forward the clean group of emergency messages to at least one public safety answering point (“PSAP”).
