    Abstract: An adaptive SINR control process is triggered based on various quality measures associated with the received signal in a mobile device or on a geographic region in which a base station and an interferer are located. As part of the adaptive SINR control process, the mobile device reduces the signal level of the received signal, which reduces both the signal strength of the desired signal and the interfering signal. If the control process is triggered on the mobile device side, after detecting the presence of interference, the mobile device sends a request that the base station increase its transmit power of the desired signal to improve the receiving SINR in the mobile device. Alternatively, the mobile device may receive information from the base station causing the mobile device to reduce the signal level of the received signal based on quality indicators sent by the mobile device to the base station or based on geographic location of the base station.

    Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for limiting service availability when a sensor device is non-operational due to a noise floor change. According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a connected home system includes a controller device configured to monitor a plurality sensor devices deployed within a premises, and a sensor device of the plurality of sensor devices. The sensor device can monitor radio frequency (“RF”) noise in a radio environment associated with the premises. The radio environment is associated with an RF noise floor. The sensor device can determine whether the radio frequency noise exceeds a noise threshold. In response to determining that the RF noise exceeds the noise threshold, the sensor device can cause the controller device to exclude the sensor device from being monitored by the controller device until the RF noise returns to below the noise threshold.

According to one aspect disclosed herein, a system can monitor a health status of an IoT sensor device of a plurality of IoT sensor devices. The system can determine that the health status of the IoT sensor device indicates a sensor malfunction experienced by the IoT sensor device, and in response, can generate and send an alert to a forensic analytics module. The alert can identify the sensor malfunction. In response to the alert, the forensic analytics module can determine a last known location of the IoT sensor device. The system can obtain a set of satellite images of the last known location of the IoT sensor device, and can utilize the set of satellite images of the last known location to determine a cause of the sensor malfunction.

In particular, the sensor device can detect a jamming signal originating, for example, from jamming device that is intentionally attempting to jam operations of the sensor device. The sensor device can determine whether the jamming signal is above a jamming alarm threshold. If the sensor device determines that the jamming signal is above the jamming alarm threshold, the sensor device can generate a jamming alarm event that is directed to the controller device. The sensor device can send the jamming alarm event to the controller device.
