  • Patent number: 8879410
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention relate to WRAs that implement removable memory units (RMUs). The ability to load operational, maintenance, and mission data through RMUs is critical for avionics platform safety and logistics. However, due to strong hardware dependence, universality, or rather platform-invariance is not currently available for aircraft data acquisition (including the real-time recording of new performance, operational (flight) and environmental data) or mission data loading via prior art WRAs.

  • Patent number: 8867505
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a fast data call connection method capable of reducing a connection time and increasing the probability of connection success in a CDMA 2000 network. In the fast data call connection method of the present invention, the PDSN transmits a data call connection request message, including an authentication type and a challenge value, to the MS. The MS transmits a data call connection response message, including a response to the challenge value, to the PDSN. The PDSN performs authentication with reference to the data call connection response message, and transmits a data call connection complete message to the MS if authentication succeeds. Accordingly, the present invention is advantageous in that it can reduce connection time, can increase the probability of connection success, and can guarantee compatibility by checking the MS version before a data call connection process is executed.

  • Patent number: 8861525
Abstract: A translation data center (TDC) is described that provides cloud-based network protocol translation services. In an example system, the TDC is coupled to a first public network that includes client devices and operates according to a first network-layer protocol (NLP) and a second public network that includes content providers and operates according to a second NLP. Domain name servers within the first public network are updated to include records that resolve respective domain names for each of a plurality of content providers of the second public network to different, globally-routable network destination addresses assigned to the TDC. The TDC receives packets from the first network, transforms the packets from the first NLP to the second NLP and replaces network-layer destination addresses of the TDC with the network-layer destination addresses for the content providers.

  • Patent number: 8854964
Abstract: Method and apparatus for determining a transport bit rate for a multiprogram transport stream (MPTS) is described. In one example, a plurality of transport bit rates is computed for a respective plurality of programs in the MPTS. A highest transport bit rate and a lowest transport bit rate are selected from the plurality of transport bit rates. An average transport bit rate is computed from the highest transport bit rate and the lowest transport bit rate. The average transport bit rate is provided as an initial transport bit rate for the MPTS. Jitter in the MPTS may be compensated using the initial transport bit rate.

  • Patent number: 8848532
Abstract: A data processing method and system and relevant devices are provided to improve the processing efficiency of cores. The method includes: storing received packets in a same stream sequentially; receiving a Get_packet command sent by each core; selecting, according to a preset scheduling rule, packets for being processed by each core among the stored packets; receiving a tag switching command sent by each core, where the tag switching command indicates that the core has finished a current processing stage; and performing tag switching for the packets in First In First Out (FIFO) order, and allocating the packets to a subsequent core according to the Get_packet command sent by the subsequent core after completion of the tag switching, so that the packet processing continues until all processing stages are finished. A data processing system and relevant devices are provided. With the present invention, the processing efficiency of cores may be improved.

  • Patent number: 8848533
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a fabric ingress scheduler and method that distributes ingress packet traffic in a time division multiplex (TDM) system, both fabric interface aggregate and per connection, deterministically across fabric paths. Advantageously, the fabric ingress scheduler and method minimizes fabric latency and prevents fabric interface head-of-line blocking. The fabric ingress scheduler and method utilizes the fact that each connection flow has a known maximum rate which must be reserved through the fabric for prevention of data loss (essentially circuit switching using a packet fabric). In exemplary embodiments, the fabric interface supports per packet fabric path selection. Generally, the fabric ingress scheduler and method generally provides a deterministic scheduling of ingress packets to fabric paths.

  • Patent number: 8848570
Abstract: A system including a user interface circuit, a classifier, a counter, and an action circuit. The user interface circuit is configured to receive a user input establishing a rule, wherein the rule describes (i) a characteristic of an event, and (ii) an action to initiate in response to a predetermined threshold being met. The classifier is configured to identify, based on the characteristic described in the rule, events that have the characteristic in a network device. The counter is configured to count a number of the events that have the characteristic in the network device as identified by classifier. The action circuit is configured to initiate the action described in the rule in response to the number of the events meeting the predetermined threshold in the rule.

  • Patent number: 8848576
Abstract: Systems and methods that allow for dynamically deconfiguring, reconfiguring and/or otherwise configuring nodes (e.g., processors) in a symmetric multiprocessing system (e.g., a symmetric multiprocessor) in a manner that avoids, or at least limits, inefficiencies such as renumbering of node IDs, system reboots, SW configuration handle changes, and the like. In one arrangement, a number of modules, tables and/or the like that are configured to generate node IDs and/or convert node IDs from one form to another form can be intelligently implemented within an SMP to allow the various processes and/or components of an SMP to utilize the node IDs in a more efficient manner. For instance, as SDs in an SMP are often configured to work with CNIDs (e.g., for use in determining at which node a particular requested cache line resides), any node GNIDs that are sent to the SD for processing can first be converted into corresponding CNIDs.

  • Patent number: 8837275
Abstract: A first site comprises a first ISP, a first server and a first router interposed between the first ISP and the first server. A second site comprises a second ISP, a second server and a second router interposed between the second ISP and the second server. While the second server is operating, both the first and second routers broadcast announcements of an IP address of the second server. The announcements of the IP address broadcast by the first router indicate the first router as a less preferred route to the IP address than the announcements of the IP address by the second router indicating the second router as a route to the IP address. Consequently, packets addressed to the IP address are routed to the second server via the second ISP and the second router. Subsequently, the second site fails, and concurrently, the second router ceases to broadcast announcements of the IP address of the second site and the first router continues to broadcast announcements of the IP address of the second site.
