  • Patent number: 8335229
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method for supporting multiple devices on a high speed physical link may be described. An embedded device may assert a link request pin to request to transmit data on a multi-point communications link that may serve a plurality of embedded devices. A controlling device may receive the link request signal. When the controlling device finishes sending data on the link, it may address the plurality of embedded devices in a round robin format and may determine which device asserted the link request pin. The embedded device that asserted the link request pin may send an acknowledgement signal to the controlling device when it is addressed.

  • Patent number: 8335158
Abstract: A system selectively drops data from queues. The system includes a drop table that stores drop probabilities. The system selects one of the queues to examine and generates an index into the drop table to identify one of the drop probabilities for the examined queue. The system then determines whether to drop data from the examined queue based on the identified drop probability.

  • Patent number: 8331247
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for code channel allocation and related multiuser detection in a wireless communication system. The method for code channel allocation includes: establishing a relation between at least one channel estimation window and a channelization code, wherein the at least one channel estimation window corresponding to the channelization code includes the channel estimation windows corresponding to all the spread spectrum code branches of a node in which the channelization code exists; and performing code channel allocation according to the relation established. In the method for code channel allocation of the invention, there exists a one-to-many relation between the channelization code/channelization code number established and the at least one channel estimation window. Therefore, during the multiuser detection, the channelization code/channelization code number determined via the at least one channel estimation window activated is unique.

  • Patent number: 8325732
Abstract: A method of enabling extension of a network service of a first domain to a remote customer site hosted by an Access Gateway (AG) in a Provider Ethernet domain. In the first domain, the remote customer site is represented as being hosted by a border gateway (BG) connected to the Provider Ethernet domain, such that subscriber packets associated with the network service are forwarded to or from the remote customer site via the BG. In the Provider Ethernet domain, a trunk connection is instantiated through the Provider Ethernet domain between the host AG and the BG. A trunk cross-connection function is installed in the host AG, for transferring subscriber packets associated with the network service between a respective attachment virtual circuit (AVC) through which the remote customer site is connected to the host AG and an extended AVC tunnelled through the trunk connection.

  • Patent number: 8295286
Abstract: Internet Protocol address prefixes are hashed into hash tables allocated memory blocks on demand after collisions occur for both a first hash and a single rehash. The number of memory blocks allocated to each hash table is limited, with additional prefixes handled by an overflow content addressable memory. Each hash table contains only prefixes of a particular length, with different hash tables containing prefixes of different lengths. Only a subset of possible prefix lengths are accommodated by the hash tables, with a remainder of prefixes handled by the content addressable memory or a similar alternate address lookup facility.

  • Patent number: 8259586
Abstract: In general, this disclosure describes techniques of selecting routes for network packets through a computer network based, at least in part, on electrical power procurement arrangements of devices in the computer network. As described herein, there may be a plurality of routes through a computer network from a first device to a second device. Each of these routes may include one or more devices that consume electrical power. A route selection device may make a determination regarding how network packets are to be routed among these routes based, at least in part, on arrangements made to procure the electrical power consumed by the devices along the routes. After the route selection device makes this determination, the route selection device may cause network packets to be routed among these routes in accordance with this determination.

  • Patent number: 8259632
Abstract: A protocol for a peer power save mode (PPSM) in a tunneled direct link setup (TDLS) wireless network and a system therefor are provided. A station (STA) set up a TDLS link can send a frame having a power management bit set to a peer STA to enter into a power save mode (PSM). In this case, the station entering into the PSM operates in a PPSM client mode. When the peer STA operates in the PPSM client mode, the STA can operate in the PPSM access point (AP) mode or can enter into the PPSM client mode. The STA operating in the PPSM AP mode buffers data for the STA operating in the PPSM client mode and informs the peer STA of information indicating that there is buffered data by the use of a peer traffic indication frame or the like. In principle, a U-APSD procedure can be applied to the transmission of data through a direct link from the STA operating in the PPSM AP mode to the STA operating in the PPSM client mode.

  • Patent number: 8223682
Abstract: A receiving system and a data processing method are disclosed. The receiving system includes a receiving unit, a demodulator, a first handler, a second handler, and a third handler. The receiving unit receives a broadcast signal comprising fast information channel (FIC) data, transmission parameter channel (TPC) data, and mobile service data packetized into an RS frame. The demodulator demodulates the broadcast signal. The first handler configures an ensemble from the RS frame, so as to acquire first signaling information including access information of the mobile service. The second handler receives second signaling information of the mobile service, so as to acquire content identification information of a second data type from the received second signaling information. And, the third handler extracts a mobile service identifier and a content identifier of a first data type from the first signaling information and constructs content identification information of a second data type.

  • Patent number: 8223638
Abstract: A high-capacity digital communications system and method of transporting 10 GbE LAN packets between user devices over an OTN network that allows the packets to be transported in a manner that is transparent to the destination device(s) on the network. The digital communications system includes an OTN network, and at least one source device and at least one destination device connected to the network via respective 10Gbase-R interfaces. The system transports 10 GbE LAN data packets over the OTN network by performing decoding on the packets to recover the preamble and variable length data contained in each packet, removing the IPG between successive packets in the stream, encapsulating the packets including the respective preambles and data, and mapping the encapsulated packets to the overhead and payload areas of ODUk frames. The packets are then transported over the OTN network from the source device to the destination device.
