  • Patent number: 9055544
Abstract: One embodiment of the method includes defining, at the user equipment, a range for the maximum output power. The range includes a maximum value and a minimum value. The minimum value is based on a maximum power signalled by a base station, a power class of the user equipment, a maximum power reduction permitted, an additional maximum power reduction permitted, a reduction term dependent on transmission bandwidth, and a power management term. The method further includes setting, at the user equipment, the maximum output power within the defined range.

  • Patent number: 9042353
Abstract: An endpoint device may be operable to transmit and receive data wirelessly via a medium to which access is time-division multiplexed into a plurality of repeating windows. A first window of the plurality of repeating windows may be time-division multiplexed into a plurality of timeslots utilized for transmitting beacon signals. A second window of the plurality of repeating windows may be time-division multiplexed into a plurality of timeslots utilized for transmitting alarm signals. The endpoint may be assigned one of the first timeslots and, when an alarm condition is present, select one of the second timeslots for transmitting an alarm signal based on the assigned first timeslot, and based on a hash function. The endpoint may then transmit an alarm signal during the second timeslot. The endpoint may be operable to synchronize its local clock by listening to beacons transmitted by other endpoints.

  • Patent number: 9001732
Abstract: A packet radio network provides a facility for communicating internet packets to and/or from a mobile user equipment. In response to a packet data protocol activation request message requesting a common packet data protocol context, a serving support node is operable in combination with a gateway support node to establish a common packet data protocol context in association with a packet communications bearer. The common packet data protocol context is established to communicate internet protocol packets via the packet communications bearer according to an internet protocol version specified by the mobile user equipment for one or more communications sessions.

  • Patent number: 8995439
Abstract: A local router stores a content distribution map that specifies a plurality of permitted multicast groups. The local router receives communications from user devices on an access-network side of the local router. Those received communications identify multicast groups for which user devices wish to receive data. The local router ascertains if those identified multicast groups are permitted multicast groups specified by the stored content distribution map. For multicast groups ascertained to be permitted multicast groups, the local router sends communications across a network-side interface requesting membership in those multicast groups. The local router may then receive data for those multicast groups and forward that data to user devices. For multicast groups identified in user device communications ascertained not to be permitted multicast groups, the local router sends no communications across the network-side interface requesting membership.

  • Patent number: 8989126
Abstract: A user data resource determination unit determines any sub carriers in any downlink subframe as a first resource from which downlink user data is transmitted to a wireless terminal. A sounding resource determination unit determines a part of an uplink part in a closest switch subframe preceding the determined downlink subframe as a second resource from which a wireless terminal transmits a sounding reference signal, and notifies the wireless terminal of the determined second resource. A transmission path state estimation unit estimates a state of a transmission path to the wireless terminal based on the sounding reference signal from the wireless terminal. A transmission unit forms directivity of a plurality of antennas based on the estimated state of the transmission path and transmits downlink user data.

  • Patent number: 8976691
Abstract: A first communication device comprising memory in which data is stored may receive a request packet from a second communication device, measure received signal strength for the request packet, and determine whether to perform the requested search of the data stored in the memory based on the received signal strength and the power at which the request packet was transmitted. The search request packet may comprise a request to search the data stored in the memory, and a transmit power field that indicates a power at which the request packet was transmitted. The determining may be based on a result of a comparison between the received signal strength and a threshold and/or based on a comparison of a relative power and a threshold. The relative power may be calculated utilizing the received signal strength and the power at which the packet was transmitted.

  • Patent number: 8976746
Abstract: A transmission scheme newly adds a Demodulation Reference Signal (DM-RS) to estimate a channel response for demodulation. When a transmission scheme based on Long Term Evolution Common Reference Signal (LTE CRS) is set in a user, a corresponding user cannot receive data in a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) sub-frame. To solve this problem, the present scheme separates and sets a transmission mode for sub-frame and a transmission mode for MBSFN.

  • Patent number: 8976751
Abstract: Channel state information (CSI) reporting is described. CSI configuration information for a plurality of cells, and information requesting an aperiodic CSI report for a first cell are received. A periodic CSI report for a second cell different from the first cell with the aperiodic CSI report for the first cell in a corresponding subframe is transmitted. If a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) and a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) are transmitted in the corresponding subframe simultaneously, the periodic CSI report for the second cell is transmitted via the PUCCH and the aperiodic CSI report for the first cell is transmitted via the PUSCH in the corresponding subframe. Otherwise, the periodic CSI report for the second cell is piggybacked on the PUSCH and the periodic CSI report for the second cell and the aperiodic CSI report for the first cell are transmitted via the PUSCH in the corresponding subframe.

  • Patent number: 8971193
Abstract: An internet telephony call analyzer receives call information from endpoint and intermediate network devices, corrects timestamp errors in the records, stores the records, and identifies records associated with a single call session between two endpoint devices in the network. The timestamp errors may be corrected by applying a time differential correction to a call start timestamp and call stop timestamp of the record if the timestamp in the record differs from a system timestamp when the record was received by the call analyzer. Call information records associated with the same call session may be matched by identifying records with the same SIP call ID, the same SSRC ID and call start timestamps within a predetermined time interval of each other.
