  • Patent number: 7617064
Abstract: A high-definition multimedia interface circuit uses a high-definition multimedia interface encoder to produce a plurality of channels of data. An output circuit, connected to the high-definition multimedia interface encoder, produces a plurality of channels of high frequency data from the data produced by the high-definition multimedia interface encoder. A multiplexer selects a channel for sampling, and a capacitive coupler capacitively couples the multiplexer to a sampling circuit. The sampling circuit produces sampled data corresponding to the high frequency data having a clock rate less than a clock rate of the high frequency data. A test circuit compares the sampled data with the data produced by the high-definition multimedia interface encoder.

  • Patent number: 7617060
Abstract: An adaptive optics system is provided, comprising a deformable mirror configured to receive an input beam with an aberrated wavefront and to reflect the input beam to a Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor array. The system further comprises the Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor array configured to receive the input beam from the deformable mirror, and to generate a plurality of sub-images from the input beam. The system further comprises a processor configured to measure, for each sub-image, two linear coefficients corresponding to a local wavefront aberration of the sub-image and to estimate, for each sub-image, three quadratic coefficients corresponding to the local wavefront aberration of the sub-image. The processor is further configured to reconstruct the aberrated wavefront of the input beam based on the measured linear coefficients and the estimated quadratic coefficients, and to provide control signals based upon the reconstructed wavefront to the deformable mirror to mitigate aberrations in the input beam.

  • Patent number: 7603249
Abstract: A semiconductor device that may include temperature sensing circuits is disclosed. The temperature sensing circuits may be used to control various parameters, such as internal regulated supply voltages, internal refresh frequency, a word line low voltage. In this way, operating specifications of a semiconductor device at worst case temperatures may be met without compromising performance at normal operating temperatures. Each temperature sensing circuit may include a selectable temperature threshold value as well as a selectable temperature hysteresis value. In this way, temperature performance characteristics may be finely tuned. Furthermore, a method of testing the temperature sensing circuits is disclosed in which a current value may be monitored and temperature threshold values and temperature hysteresis values may be thereby determined.

  • Patent number: 7596458
Abstract: Tracking vibrations on a pipeline network includes installing multiple vibration recorders on the pipeline network, with each recorder including a sensor, a timer, a processor, and a digital communication device. At each vibration recorder, vibration signals are received from the sensor at programmed times under the control of the processor of the vibration recorders and processed by the processor. The processed vibration signals are communicated from the vibration recorder to a reader device using the digital communication device. Thereafter, the processed vibration signals from the one or more reader devices are collected at a central computer system. Finally, the collected processed vibrations signals are analyzed at the central computer system to determine abnormal vibration patterns and to obtain measures of any leaks present in the pipeline network.

  • Patent number: 7593832
Abstract: A system and method for meeting performance goals in an electronic system in an energy efficient manner. Various aspects of the present invention may comprise operating an electrical circuit at a current level of performance and a current level of energy efficiency by providing the electrical circuit with electrical power characterized by a current set of power characteristics (e.g., utilizing a power control module). The current level of performance may be determined (e.g., by a performance monitor) and compared to a desired level of performance (e.g., by the power control module). If the current level of performance is higher than the desired level of performance, then the electrical circuit may be operated at a next (e.g., lower) level of performance and a next (e.g., higher) level of energy efficiency by providing the electrical circuit with electrical power characterized by a next set of power characteristics.

  • Patent number: 7580809
Abstract: A device for detecting a motional position of an object in motion uses a first unit and a second unit which are communicably linked with each other. The first unit repeatedly produces positional information indicative of the motional position of the object in response to a change in motional position of the object. The change in position is detected by a positional sensor placed to sense a movement of the object and reflects therein a motion of the object. The positional information is pulsed information. The first unit repeatedly transmits produced positional information every time when change in motional position of the object reaches a given unit quantity of change. The second unit repeatedly calculates motional position of the object based on a predetermined procedure including repeatedly counting a starting edge of positional information transmitted from the first unit.
