Abstract: A method includes, detecting a first touch input representing a selection of multiple rows of text displayed on a touch-sensitive display of the electronic device, determining whether a complete row of text has been selected from a start point or to an end point of the selected text, and, displaying a paragraph selection handle proximal to said row, the paragraph selection handle being responsive to a second touch input to place the electronic device in a paragraph selection mode for the selection of text.

Abstract: A system includes an industrial monitor configured to receive inputs from a plurality of sensors coupled to a mechanical system. The industrial monitor is configured to determine a plurality of measurements corresponding to operation of the mechanical system based, at least in part, on the received inputs. The system includes a display device communicatively coupled to the industrial monitor, wherein the display device is configured to present a user interface having a plurality of screens, and wherein each of measurement is associated with at least one of the plurality of screens. Further, each screen of the plurality of screens is configured to selectively present a navigational indicator having an appearance when a measurement associated with a different screen has an irregular status.

Abstract: While a computing device is in a limited-access state, the computing device may output for display a user interface element. Responsive to the computing device receiving an indication of a first user input at a region of a presence-sensitive input device that corresponds to at least a portion of the user interface element as displayed, the computing device may alter the visual appearance of the user interface element to indicate that the user interface element is selected. Responsive to the computing device determining that it has received the indication of the second user input at the region of the presence-sensitive input device within the predefined period of time subsequent to receiving the indication of the first user input, the computing device may activate the user interface element.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for electronic checklist display system. A checklist display device is connected to a number of display screens. A display screen within the number of display screens displays an integrated electronic checklist within a checklist display window on the display screen. The integrated electronic checklist comprises a number of checklist items associated with a vehicle system, systems information for the vehicle system, and graphics representing a current status of a number of components of the vehicle system.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods and computer-readable storage medium are provided for security provisioning at a communication device. In some embodiments, a method can include: executing a high security application on a communication device based, at least, on detecting that high security is enabled for the communication device and detecting execution of a low security application; outputting, via a user interface (UI), information configured to detect an entry to the communication device; detecting an entry at the UI of the communication device; determining whether the entry corresponds to security access information stored in the communication device; and providing access to the communication device based, at least, on determining that the entry corresponds to the security access information.

Abstract: An electronic computing device can be configured to act as a text-entry device and a cursor control device for a second device. The first device can include a touch-sensitive display capable of receiving text inputs and cursor inputs for controlling operations performed on the second device which is communicatively coupled to the first device. The first device can be configured such that selection of a field displayed by the second device can cause information such as text from a focus field to be displayed by the first device. The second device can be configured to send information pertaining to the focus field to the first device. The information can include a warning that the maximum length of input for the focus field has been, or is about to be, exceeded.

Abstract: A broadcaster-specific service module is provided for applications hosted by a processing device. The broadcaster-specific service module and the applications communicate through a common service bus. The broadcaster-specific service module receives items from an online broadcaster via a network, with each item associated with a media file or stream available from the online broadcaster. The broadcaster-specific service module generates a catalog containing a tree of the items, and sends the catalog to a target application via the service bus to display the catalog for user selection. The broadcaster-specific service module formats data of the catalog can be understood by all of the applications attached to the service bus.

Abstract: A file upload widget is provided on a website to enable the upload of files to a website from an account within a content management system. The file upload widget may be used to: (1) allow a user to select files from a content management system, such as a synced online content management system; and (2) initiate the upload of the files directly from the content management system to the website. In various embodiments, this may: (1) allow the user to upload files that are not stored locally on the computing device being used to access the file upload widget; and (2) allow the user to complete the upload of files by initiating the transfer of files and then logging off of the website (and/or powering down their computing device) before the transfer of files is complete, which may result in a more convenient and enjoyable upload process.

Abstract: A computer-aided design system and method facilitates the editing of an object in a workspace of a computer aided design system. A user input indicating selection of an affine tool is received, and a user input indicating selection of the object is received. It is determined whether an additional user input is received. If it is determined that the additional user input is not received, a first set of user-activatable affine functions for manipulating the object is enabled. The first set of user-activatable affine functions includes a move function to move the object in the workspace and a resize function to resize the object. If it is determined that the additional user input is received, a second set of user-activatable functions for manipulating the object is enabled. The second set of user-activatable affine functions includes a skew function to skew the object.

Abstract: A viewer of a UHD may configure one or more home screens that are associated with that viewer at viewer login by selecting one or more home screen templates, each of which includes multiple content panes arranged in a unique layout. The viewer may modify the layout. Each home screen may be associated with a respective content genus so that, for example, when a sports program is presented and the viewer selects a “home” key on a remote commander, a sports-related home screen is presented based on the viewer-selected sports home screen template, whereas when a feature movie is presented and the viewer selects the “home” key, a movie-related home screen is presented based on the viewer-selected movie home screen template.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for employing an intelligent stencil mask to interact with a touch screen interface and thereby reduce the probability of accidental control function activation. A touch screen interface onboard an aircraft is coupled to a processor and is configured to generate a first virtual mask having a first region and a second region. A user interaction is then detected with one of the first region and the second region. A first reconfigured virtual mask is generated if the user interacted with the second region. However, an aircraft control function is activated if the user interacted with the first region.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a user interface in which user interfaces related to child elements are displayed on neighboring zones of a user interface related to a parent element. In the method, a first user interface related to a parent element that is associated with a plurality of child elements is displayed on a display screen. Abstract: In general, this disclosure describes techniques for selecting a subset of participants to display on a display device of a computing device from a plurality of participants in a video conference. In one example, a method includes determining a participation rating for each of a plurality of participants in a video conference, wherein the participation rating is based on one or more conversation properties for each of the two or more participants. The method also includes selecting two or more participants based on the participation rating of each of the two or more participants. The method further includes displaying image data associated with the two or more selected participants on a display device of a computing device.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for facilitating troubleshooting of remote workstation issues reported by an end user to a technical support center analyst in an enterprise network. A plurality of remote workstation software support tools are encapsulated in a support center utility application. Upon receiving a call from an end user (also referred to as customer herein), the remote workstation name for the end user is entered into the support center utility application. This causes information for the remote workstation and end user to be presented to the analyst via a support center utility application interface. At least one encapsulated remote workstation software support tool is launched based on an issue reported by the end user, the tool being pre-populated with information for the remote workstation from the support center utility application interface.

Abstract: Information URLs may be associated with three dimensional objects in a three dimensional virtual environment. When a URL is selected, an overlay web rendering engine renders a web page associated with the URL over the object in the three dimensional virtual environment. The web page may include rich content, interactive content, or any other type of web content supported by the user's local browser and browser plugging. The user may interact with the content in the overlay web rendering engine to obtain successive layers of content or to affect the object in the virtual environment. The web page is rendered with a transparent background so that the three dimensional content of the virtual environment continues to be visible through the web page and provides context for the overlayed content. Information URLs may be used to provide information about objects, Avatars, or the virtual environment itself.
