  • Patent number: 10178236
Abstract: Technology for initiating emergency calls is disclosed. A minimum set of emergency related data (MSD) associated with the emergency call may be identified at a terminal equipment (TE) of a mobile terminal. An attention (AT) command may be generated that includes the MSD and selected configuration information related to the emergency call. The AT command may be sent from the TE of the mobile terminal to a mobile termination (MT) of the mobile terminal in order to setup the emergency call, wherein the mobile terminal (MT) routes the emergency call to a public safety answering point (PSAP) in a communication network.

  • Patent number: 10149147
Abstract: [Problem] To provide a communication system for simplifying terminal device configuration. [Solution] A communication system comprises a server and a terminal device. The server stores first information in order for the terminal device to communicate, and stores second information in order for the terminal device to connect to a network of the other bases. When the power is turned on in a normal operation, the terminal device connects to the network by using network information in a non-volatile memory unit, obtains the first information from the server, and writes the same in a volatile memory unit. Thus, the terminal device starts operation. When the power is turned on by using a particular operation, the terminal device connects to the network by using the network information in the non-volatile memory unit, obtains network information of the other bases from the server, and stores the same in the non-volatile memory unit. Thus, it is possible to connect to the network of the other bases.

  • Patent number: 10142480
Abstract: A messaging application receives a sequence of user-consumable messages directed to at least one destination user. The messages are stored in non-volatile storage comprising one or more non-volatile storage devices, and the messages consist of a number of consumed messages having been consumed by the destination user, and a number of unconsumed messages not yet having been consumed by the user. An automatic message manager is configured to implement different respective retention policies for the consumed messages and the unconsumed messages. The retention policy for the consumed messages comprises automatically determining when the number of consumed messages exceeds a threshold for consumed messages, and in response automatically deleting at least one of the consumed messages from the non-volatile storage so as to bring the number of consumed messages back within the threshold for consumed messages.

  • Patent number: 10123298
Abstract: A technique for estimating the location of a wireless terminal at an unknown location in a geographic region. The wireless terminal measures samples of a predetermined form of energy in its vicinity. The disclosed technique then generates a characterization of a predetermined type of variation in the vicinity of the wireless terminal, based on the samples measured. Based on the characterization, the technique generates an estimate of whether the wireless terminal is moving or stationary. The technique then generates an estimate of the location of the wireless terminal, based on the estimate of whether the wireless terminal is moving or stationary. The location estimate can be based on i) applying a location estimate that is optimized for motion if the wireless terminal is estimated to be moving and ii) applying a different technique if the wireless terminal is estimated to be stationary.

  • Patent number: 10111040
Abstract: An information-capturing device includes a near-field communication module, a video recording unit, a storing unit, and a controlling unit. The controlling unit is coupled to the near-field communication module, the video recording unit, and the storing unit. The near-field communication module receives an event message including a destination information. The video recording unit captures an ambient data. The storing unit stores a first identification code. The controlling unit compares the first identification code with the dedicated identification code specified by the destination information contained in the event message. The controlling unit starts the video recording unit if the first identification code matches the dedicated identification code specified by the destination information contained in the event message.

  • Patent number: 10095463
Abstract: A method and apparatus provide for removal of a display screen from a wireless device, or, in a different embodiment, provide for a display screen as a separate and additional device that functions in real time in the same way as if the screen were incorporated in the wireless device. This functionality is enabled by a short range wireless connection, such as Bluetooth, between transceivers located in the wireless device and the display screen device. The display screen device allows a user to monitor the associated wireless device without needing to operate the full device. The display screen device may also have control capability for controlling the wireless device. Thus, a user can monitor and control a mobile device from a smaller remote display device while being presented with the information that would be displayed on the display screen of the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 10097981
Abstract: A test procedure for an emergency call network includes the following steps: A test user connection is provided between a test user and a test site and an integrated test environment. Location data are assigned to a target location of the test user, wherein such target location is to be emulated by the integrated test environment. An emergency operator connection is provided between the integrated test environment and an emergency operator in an emergency call center of the emergency call network using the assigned location data. The test user connection and the emergency operator connection are synchronized to establish an end-to-end call connection between the test user and the emergency operator. By using these steps, the expenses for performing a test procedure for an emergency call network are lowered. A test system also is presented for performing such test procedure.

  • Patent number: 10070308
Abstract: The disclosed technology includes techniques for allowing a contact to exercise control over a third party's sharing of the contact's mobile contact information with mobile applications. A contact may create an application contact key containing rules that govern when a third party may share the contact information with mobile applications. The application contact key may be stored in association with the contact information on a third party's mobile device, on a remote server, or as part of a social networking website. The application contact key may instruct the mobile device whether or not to share the contact information with a particular mobile application. Further, an application contact import management system may track all requests from various mobile applications to access the contact information, and may provide for a seamless future on-boarding experience in the event the contact later decides to accept a previously denied request to share the contact information.
